Yup, They Bang

Recent con has made it clear as to why Jared would get depressed time and time again when he was doing SPN? And why is he in a far better mood when he was with Walker?

Imagine getting slighted and dissed at an event that was started because of you. You are looked down upon by colleagues whom you helped and advice to be part of this circuit. They don't even care for you and make fun of your expense, and you don't have any choice but to endure. Becoz lashing or saying anything will only hurt your image and will make you look like an asshole.

If this isn't enough, the same behavior is carried on to your work. People have realised that you won't do much about it, so the ill treatment continues at work. What makes it worse is that you have to not only act brotherly towards the guy who was the reason behind the ill-treament to maintain the facade but also stroke his ego and praise him for everything.

You will let it go at first, and you might take in a stride, but as it continues, it starts gnawing at you. Slowly, it starts chipping at you, making you sad and slowly you become disinterested in the work you used to like the most.

You could see this happening with Jared. There was a huge difference between Jared that was in the earlier panels vs. Jared that was in the panel towards the end of SPN. You could see how Jensen and fans' constant dissing and ridiculing made Jared vary. What made me angry was how Jensen and Co was trying to ridicule Jared about dad jokes simply because those are the ones that connect him the most with the audience. The entire drum roll beat is the most ridiculous thing of cons.

It is totally understandable why Jared said that Walker reignited his love for acting. Imagine how ugly it must have been for Jared that he stop loving the craft he once loved the most

Right, so now that we have Jared “Sam Fucking Winchester” Padalecki’s tacit permission to head canon any parenting/co-parenting scenario for Sam and little Dean, I need to hear everyone’s preferred version of what happened.

Here’s mine.

Sam made it almost 2 years before he broke down and tried to make a deal. He knew not to ask for Dean back, he as much as promised that he wouldn’t, he just wanted to see him, talk to him, even for a minute. Months and months and months replaying what happened in his mind, and a little voice reminding him how he should have said it back. I love you too. I love you so much too. Dean knew, right? But still…

Certain notification systems have been set up in Hell under new rule. Rowena doesn’t allow the kind of shady dealings her predecessors did. No deals with kids, for one. No deals with the inebriated. Standard consent stuff.

She also placed a flag on a couple of names. An exact couple of names, top tier VIP, for her to handle only. So when Sam breaks, her little red emergency phone rings.

She can’t help him talk to Dean, and what’s more, she assures him she doesn’t need to, “time’s different up there, Samuel, he won’t have much time to miss you.”

Time was still the same down here, though, and she knew Sam would have years, decades, to wait. She couldn’t get him Dean, but she could give him something to live for. 

Little Dean is Sam’s, biologically, and maybe partly hers, too, not created the traditional way, but crafted with love and magic all the same. Sam wonders how it will work, co-parenting with the Queen of Hell, but Rowena promises to be hands off- the mother thing never really worked out for her.

She checks in on them now and then, watches from a distance to make sure they’re safe and happy. Warns every supernatural creature she encounters- the boy is off limits, by order of the Crown.

My ideal headcanon is that Sam was going to keep hunting himself to an early death, because yes he promised but it wasn’t a fair ask. But then he gets a call and someone has found a child of Dean’s no one knew existed. And Sam has to stay, to raise this boy, his brother’s son. So he does, as best as he knows how. As best he can, considering. And it’s hard and fucking sad but he has a piece of Dean and he can’t not. He may not have felt he owed Dean living a long life without him, but he knows he owes Dean this. So he carries on. Coparents with the boys mother. Raises a son that is his, but also Dean’s. He never forgets what’s waiting for him at the end, and if the happiest day of his life was when he recommitted to a life with his brother in the pilot, the happiest day of his existence was being reunited in heaven, forever.

Sam is on another case, just one more, he keeps telling himself, just one more and then he’ll stop. The world doesn’t need him to save it anymore. Jack is out there, and the crossroads deals have stopped and the monsters seem to have almost  faded away, but he keeps looking for hunts for the easy way out, he’s not suicidal, he’s careful, but every day he wakes up and he thinks today is the day I see Dean again.

The phone rings, not Sam’s phone, Dean’s, the number doesn’t have a name, but he answers it. There’s a woman whose voice he’s  never heard on the other end of the line, she asks for Dean, and he tells her, that Dean’s gone, that there was an accident.

To Sam’s surprise she doesn’t just cry, she WAILS, he asks what’s wrong and how he can help and she tells him he can’t. That she’s trying to find Dean, because he’s the father of her unborn son.

Sam’s in the car, heading to her before he has time to process even what she’s saying, but she’s alone, scared, and having Dean’s child.

Ah see I was just going to go with occam’s razor and assume that omega!Sam was pregnant when alpha!Dean died.

Ever since the pilot episode, they already established the whole tone of the series and I love it.

It was right there, no interpretation needed.
