Why?
A question to all of you whumpers with OC - in your scenarios, why did the whumper pick his victim? Randomly? Was he assigned them as a job? Or is it personal? Vengeance?
Tell me! :)
Ariadne hurts a lot of people. It’s professional. Absolutely one hundred per cent professional and not for her own enjoyment at all, no. That would be ridiculous. Tacitus wound up in her hands for heresy, and got hurt a lot because she thought he was keeping secrets from her. (Which may have a little to do with a certain daemon’s meddling.)
She got invested because she got very, very angry and frustrated with him, which made the pay-off extremely satisfying when she reduced him to terror and compliance. She definitely doesn’t get gratification out of how submissive he is now, and has developed no emotional attachment at all. Why would anyone think that I mean come on. :|
Marcus picked Loiral out from observing soldiers on patrol in the streets. He was looking for: someone competent enough to be useful but not so much that he couldn’t beat him easily in a fight; someone smart; and someone without too much bravado or arrogance. Loiral is not the first or only, he’s tried a few victims looking for one who will break in the right way for his purposes. Mysteeeeriiouuus purposes! *ghost noises*
