they reached out to grab his hand, so they wouldnt get separated, and failed. they were running amok in the jungle, in the jungle THEY KNEW BETTER THAN THE PALM OF THEIR HAND. If it wasn't for the squad, they would completely lose it.

but not even the great pact commander is immune to mordremoth's "charm". they never reached the squad in dragons stand after they parted ways in tangled depths. they were on their way when they thought they heard trahearne. they followed the voice and...

nobody saw them after that. mordremoth pulled the strings effortlessly and captured its vessel mostly in tact. as for what happened next...well, you'll learn soon enough.

oh, and eyris, my beloved eyris

she goes after egg with freya and the squad, and the moment the squad starts warming up to her and trusting her, she goes off on her own after caithe steals the egg and we meet her again in auric basin, where she finally gets the egg back and stays in tarir. not that angsty, but man, she had a lot of explaining to do to everyone involved to pacify them and convince them that no, she was not, in fact, a mordrem, she was just fulfilling her secret mission from the pale tree-YES SHE'S A SOUNDLESS, AND???? her mommy was dying, come on, cut her some slack.

eyris anc caithe's relationship took quite some damage here. caithe was eyris's mentor, but eyris saw her as more than that. to her, caithe was a trustworthy and reliable friend. the egg drama tore them apart and it took some time to repair that bond.

eyris was lucky that despite everything, she still had airell's and freya's trust. airell, hearing about the whole situation, was like "well i bet she had her reasons, it's eyris we're talking about. same for caithe." and freya said "well i dont know caithe well enough but we did fight together against zhaitan. and i've known eyris for a while. she's not evil. and she definitely didnt submit to mordremoth."

in conclusion: eyris's hot arc is short, but quite emotional, focused on trust that is quite sparse. airell's hot arc is longer and much more chaotic. they are torn between their duty to the pact, to tyria, and their feelings for trahearne. in the end, it's their feelings they follow and it's their feelings that lead to their fall.
