After I watched The Old Guard for the first time, I immediately made my first Tumblr blog and an AO3 account to find my people. And there was one particular fic that I was intensely obsessed with. I didn’t know anything about subscriptions and notifications (Yes, what an AO3 noob I used to be) so instead, I would wake up in the morning and the first thing I did was check my phone to see if there was an update. This went on for about 5 months. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve re-read it but it is still one of my all time favorite fics and I love it with all of my heart.
So to thank @just-another-tinker for writing “Missed You By a Few Minutes, a Few Centuries”, I asked the incredibly talented @highbeeans to draw one of the best scenes. Thank you JAT for your genius and feeding me so well during one of the toughest times in my life. I love your story but more importantly, I really love you. And thank you Beans for capturing Joe and Nicky perfectly. You’ve exceeded all of my hopes and dreams.
