Leonardo DiCaprio went home with the gold Sunday night for best actor in a drama film. As he wrapped his speech, DiCaprio took a moment to honor the Native Americans depicted in The Revenant. Twitter loved his speech just as much as the roaring audience, to say the least. 

Now I want to know what actions he has actually taken or will take to follow through with the nice words. Cause white people say all sorts of stuff without doing any of the work to back it up. I’m tired of giving cookies to any white person who risks absolutely nothing to say some words without performing any real act of support. Only for them to receive a great outpouring of praise from their fellow liberal white people and poc for the crumbs.

My hope is for him to actually have been doing something or will do something to walk the talk because he has the platform and ability to make an impact. One of them being the amplifying of indigenous voices.

I’ll browse through Google to see if he’s been up to anything so far and monitor him for any relevant actions he takes on the matter.
