One of the more insane parts of Neopets currently is that there's a person out there who figured out how to access to Neopets' database, but they're effectively a white-hat hacker who does nothing but report on internal site workings and statistics that TNT themselves wouldn't otherwise release. TNT is aware of them and cool with it and everyone who uses the site loves and supports them dearly
neopets went through the ringer and they're the only site from the 90's to beat the odds. it was created by a starry-eyed guy and his wife, sold to scientologists who tried filling it with religious dogma, sold to a media giant who bombarded players with endless ads, flash died destroying more than half of the site, then it was sold to nft-pushers who went under, the starry-eyed creator turned into a crypto techbro and got himself banned on all neopets-related platforms, then it was given to a former employee at the nft-pusher's hq (dominic law) and is now running under a small team at tnt. they're a team of lovable goofballs doing everything they can to keep the site afloat. they've been doing livestreams, addressing old/returning players concerns, and talking about future things they have in store for players. they've already rolled out the styling studio which is a great way for players to have the pets they had during its heyday, they're reading through old lore and plots to continue, and they're making large efforts to destroy botters and balance the economy. i love neopets and i want it to thrive.
