i know ‘free bree’ is catchy because it rhymes, but pls remember that getting arrested is often intentional in civil disobedience, it costs the state money and forces them to do a lot of paperwork, and is often how important legal precedents get started.

i am p sure some racist cops and judges would love to just let bree walk without creating a paper trail, but civil disobedience says “no, you’re going to have to defend your arrest of me in court and in front of the media and it will be so expensive.”

for those who may be worrying about Bree Newsome’s safety in prison, she and another protester were released on bond, with a trial date set for July 27

That’s pretty quick, and we need to make sure this stays in the public conscience leading up to that date.

I got nothing for you, in terms of jokes and sounds. Because of what happened in South Carolina. And maybe if I wasn’t nearing the end of the run, or this wasn’t such a common occurrence, maybe I could’ve pulled out of the spiral, but I didn’t. So I honestly have nothing.

The shooter is still at large.

The shooting took place Wednesday evening at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. On its website, the church describes itself as the “oldest AME church in the south.”

“It’s really bad. It’s a very bad scene,” local pastor Thomas Dixon said.

“Apparently the person just entered the church and opened fire. That part has not been fully articulated on what happened yet … they are still looking for the suspect.” xx

Multiple deaths reported in South Carolina church shooting

A mass shooting has been confirmed at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal church in Charleston, SC. The confirmed number of casualties is still undetermined but local sources are reporting that up to 8 people have been shot and that “multiple” deaths have occurred as a result of the attack. 

The gunman, described as a white, male 21 year old is still at large. He is reportedly wearing Timberland boots, blue jeans and a grey sweatshirt.

This is about my school’s yearbook tweeted by a guy in my grade, I’m glad it’s getting so much attention because this is ridiculous.

the yearbook staff’s Twitter account tweeted that have to be “politically and socially correct and can’t keep everything that is possibly offensive” yet there was a senior quote that said, “Started from the bottom then I got some top”, which anyone in our age group knows is a reference to blowjobs. Another one saying, “Love no thotties”, and again, everyone in our age group knows that a “thot” is slang for “slut” or “whore”. They have since not commented on it further and have deleted the tweet about being socially and politically correct.
