It bothers me how cartoon network’s idea of a “modern reboot” is having the characters reference internet culture and pepper their speech with chatspeak and AAVE instead of, you know, improving the jokes and messages to reflect people being more socially conscious and punching down less. I mean, what’s next, a Flintsones reboot that’s essentially a Y-7 Family Guy?

i appreciate these articles being written about The Powerpuff Girls, but i need for you all to stop kidding yourselves and using terms like “trans folk”, “trans people”, and “transphobia” in these discussions instead of calling this out for what it really is: transmisogyny directed towards trans women and girls. same with the bathroom “debate”. this isn’t a phenomenon which affects all transgender people equally, it’s about hating women, specifically trans women.
