bath bombs can cause yeast infections and other ph imbalances in the vagina. bath bombs have perfume. anything with perfume is not safe to use on your vagina, it's no different to douching! lush bath bombs use less dangerous chemicals which reduces risk but there's still perfumes

Huh. Didn’t even occur to me honestly.

I really don’t understand how no one seems to think of this haha. I literally thought about this instantly. Which is why I only stayed in the tub for like 20/25 minutes just for the fun of it and then took a shower(I never bathe in baths anyway, I find it gross) and got the fuck out. Love your vaginas, ladies!

Actually, Lush bath bombs were made when the founder of Lush’s wife, Mo Constantine, wanted to make bath products that were specifically safe to use by children with sensitive skin and women at risk of urinary tract infections! They’re made with baking soda and citric acid, which is the same combo that makes Alka-Seltzers fizz. It’s also the same chemical reaction that happens in the classic “science fair volcano” made with baking soda and vinegar! Baking soda is very soothing on the skin and he body, which is why Alka-Seltzers can calm upset stomachs

More importantly though, Lush does not use chemical perfumes in its bath products! Lush’s policy is “effects before fragrance”, and they use essential oils and natural plant extracts which have all sorts of lovely benefits for the body, and just happen to smell awesome as well. So if your bath bomb smells like lavender, it’s not lavender-scented perfume you’re smelling, but ACTUAL lavender oil!

The only exception I can think of is this year’s Father Christmas seasonal bath bomb, which uses Synthetic Musk to give it a bubblegum/candy fragrance, since actual musk is extracted from deer anuses, and we don’t want none of that. I don’t know how healthy/unhealthy Synthetic Musk is for your vajupiter, but I do know that Lush is committed to using safe, time-tested synthetic ingredients when natural alternatives aren’t viable. People have been using our bath bombs since the 70s, and I’ve never once heard of someone getting a yeast infection from one.

STILL, if you’re at all unsure or hesitant, it’s your body and you’re entitled to err on the side of caution! Everyone’s body is different, and so there’s never a 100% foolproof way of determining exactly how each one is gonna react to a certain product or ingredient other than trying it out. It’s good to know, however, that you can check out the ingredients of each Lush bath bomb in the store or on the website, so if you’re cautious then that’s a good way to decide whether a bath bomb is something you want to use.

AND ONCE AGAIN SOMEONE DEBUNKS SOMETHING AND IS SUPER POLITE ABOUT IT AND DOESN’T DISMISS ANYONE’S HESITANCY

Like I keep saying, bath bombs are fine as long as you make sure to cleanse your downtown zone with clean water and (if possible) urinate after bathing! You won’t immediately get a UTI and keel over dead from bath bombs so relax in peace!
