So why am I supposed to be on the side of a monarchy that enforces a class system based on genetics?
scott buck is following the racist eugenics and “sacrifice children at the altar” arc which was abandoned in the early 2000′s. i am not at all surprised he’s trying to revive it since he decided to bring back one of the most disgusting caricatures in marvel history (i’m talking about iron fist). in the newer inhumans comics, there’s none of this “you’re only human? to the mines!” or “groom kids to be okay with gas chambers with death as a possibility” or “we hate earthling humans” bullshit.
if you decide to hate-watch inhumans or you’re new to inhumans universe, here are some things to keep in mind because this production does it and the actors zero justice (not spoiler-free):
- auran (the Bad WoC™) would never betray attilan and she is one of the nicest characters of all the inhumans. like seriously she wouldn’t hurt a fly. her power is that she can pick a word, hear it, and then locate where it was spoken. that’s it.
- a single breath from black bolt (the main white dude) can level an entire city which is why he chooses to never speak. any sound created from his lips could put a crater into the planet. he can’t do things that will arouse him, get him excited, angry, or anything for fear of breathing too hard. his life is tragic. he can also fly and flyers are rare in the inhuman-verse.
- crystal (human!umbreon cosplayer) is an elementalist. she can blast right through walls and can’t be subdued with a simple slap on the hand. she’s also a military tactician and was never so obtuse.
- gorgon’s (semi-centaur) hoof can cause a catastrophic seismic activity. if he ever actually stomped as hard as he does on the show, the entire place would be gone.
- karnak (asian guy with tattooed face) can target anything’s weakness—living or otherwise. he would never slip on a hill because he’d see it coming. he’s also the 3rd best martial artist in the inhumans universe.
- lockjaw (doggo) can teleport anywhere, is way bigger than the show version, has super-strength, works well under pressure, and is incredibly smart. he would never separate the inhumans because he’s a good puppers.
- maximus (simon bellamy, ramsay bolton) has always been extreme, creepy, and anti-human but he would never physically harm inhumans. he’s also not “just human”—he’s a telepath.
- medusa (red-hair lady) can manipulate her hair even when severed. she can also use every strand at the same time so taking down 10 men would be a walk in the park. her hair can act as a near-impenetrable armor and can pick up a wide variety of objects to protect her.
- triton (green asian dude) is supposed to be a hot fish guy (like thane krios meets abe sapien) so they fucked up his makeup. he’s supposed to be a main character, karnak’s brother, and has a gigantic roster of superhuman abilities: his vision is so good that can see clearly in the deep ocean, lift 2 tons, swim at 40mph and run on land at about 30mph, persist in physical activities for several hours, superhuman agility and reflexes, and he can withstand blunt force trauma that would normally be lethal to a person. what happened to him at the beginning makes no sense.
- most inhumans used to be earthling humans before undergoing terrigenesis—a cloud of alien essence that hardens and cocoons human beings upon contact; has a chance of metamorphosing human beings into alien superhumans or death. it doesn’t make any sense for them not to understand human technology, especially because their understanding of technology is far more advanced.
the timeline doesn’t match up for any of these changes to be made and none of this is forgivable and scott buck can get fucked by a cactus

okay I think I’m going to have to blacklist Iron Fist since just seeing gifs of it makes me feel kind of ill. Ser Loras Iron Fist can fucking bite me. We could have had an Asian-American Iron Fist, but instead we just get an evil Asian sidekick.

Hey there! I am interested in Black Panther, and I want to read some comics about him, but I'm not really interested in his superheroics. Do you know of a Black Panther storyline that delves into him as a person, and as the prince/king of Wakanda? Preferably some by a black creator, since that's the interpretation of the character I'm most interested in reading. Thanks so much! I love this blog.

Ok, I have to share this. This weekend we had the very first TOKYO Comic Con; Jeremy came Stan Lee came, among other great guests and there are amazing photos shared on twitter (unfortunately I couldn’t go). And I want to share some photos I found on twitter.
There was a very nice Tony Stark on that day.
I think he looks quite good (best I ever seen among Japanese cosplayers), and you can see a Spidey looking at Tony behind already. Of course how Spidey can resist Tony Stark.
No he just can’t.

But the thing is he’s not the only one.
You can see other Spideys behind, looking at them with envy. And well, there were lots of Spideys that day. Hi everyone!
