Is it bad that I stopped giving a shit about the Assassin’s Creed franchise? I really, really wanted to love this franchise as much as I love Prince of Persia. But the fact that they have made the storyline so convoluted, and the characters are so bland, white, and MALE…I don’t know.

The last installment I played was Freedom Cry and I never even finished Black Flag. I just could not be bothered with it, which sucks since I spent money on that fucking game. Liberation is still my favorite one but Assassin’s Creed II is my all-time favorite, mostly for sentimental reasons.

I wish UbiSoft would let it end…

In a better game. Aveline’s game was shit for little to no reason. She deserves a redo.

She deserves the same quality the above gifs came from. And her character is so compelling given her position in society.

i also want an aveline redo. she has SO much going for her but every arc fell flat. like just when things were getting good, suddenly i have to leave the city and do something else??? i’m still playing but yeah...she really deserves a redo. i’m glad we won the fight to get her a release outside of ps vita though. that was a colossal crime against humanity.

and can i take a minute to call ubi out on the shitty job they did with chronicles: china?????? WHAT THE FUCK IS SHAO JUN’S GAME EVEN!??!?! about this piece of shit post that keeps coming up on my dash, even from people who should know better:

Ubisoft had a female assassin years ago. they had a trailer with one years ago. they showed it at E3 even. they showed her in gameplay in her DLC for another game too.

her name is Aveline de Grandpré, and none of you self-righteous anti-black worthless “feminists” bought her game–one of the most fun games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise–even when they made an HD remake of it for platforms you own and sold it for a low price, and could no longer use the excuse that it was on a thing you didn’t have

now if you want to say that Ubisoft didn’t do enough to promote Aveline, I will not argue with that at all. if you want to say they sabotaged her by putting her on a portable that nobody had, I will support that all day long (even though I got said portable solely to support her game). Ubisoft is trash and deserved to get dragged for that garbage they said when Unity came out. they deserve to be criticized for how they handled Aveline’s marketing and AC3 Liberation’s release.

but stop fucking acting like this character doesn’t exist. be excited for this female character you’re getting in this new game but STOP THIS SHIT

if you cared about female characters, if you really cared about them instead of just using them as pawns to win pissing contests being smug about your shitty white man fave companies, you would not be erasing a black female character to praise one shitty white man run company over another, as if any of these companies give a solitary fuck about women more than making a dollar

Female character to games = WHITE female character, lets be real. They only care when it’s a not blond white woman they can fawn over

When I complain about the female assassins with Ubisoft and Bethesda I remind people that yes Ubisoft did have Aveline and Shao, both women of color assassin’s with their own game (Plus they now have Evie).  The problem is Ubisoft didnt market them well.  Aveline was pushed for a handheld that people didnt want initially so her sales were not great before they brought her to the main console, Shao didnt get her own individual game she had to share it with two other male assassins and Evie just now got her own trailer (but no playthrough with her yet).  Shao’s game didnt get a tv trailer, and Aveline while she did get a trailer they focused more marketing on AC3.  So this is the reason why Bethesda got brownie points with me, because they could have displayed Dishonor 2 with Corvo but they chose to show off Emily first.  In my opinion Ubisoft didnt treat Aveline, Shao and even Evie with the love they deserve

But guys stop erasing Aveline she was the first playable female and deserves respect, stop erasing Shao because has to share the spotlight with others, and protect Evie because she is being overshadowed by her brother in trailers, the game cover, and play demos

start championing for women of color and stop poc erasure. it happens way too often in every fandom and it’s a fucking disgrace.
