It’s beast of the southern wild Great movie

I literally do not care at all about the Academy Awards this year. The moment they gave “best actress” to Jennifer Lawrence instead of this amazing little baby actress, the Oscars lost whatever meaning they still held onto IMO.

I’m not just saying she should have won because she was five years old when she gave this amazing performance. I’m saying it because she really gave the best performance of the year, regardless of age!

No one will ever be able to convince me that J.L.’s performance in Silver Linings even came close to Quevanzhané Wallis in Southern Wild.

So anyway, this isn’t the first time the Academy has messed up, but it was definitely the last time I’d ever pay attention to them.

I was literally just discussing this with my mom earlier today. But really why does anyone care what the Academy thinks anymore anyway? They are all old irrelevant white dudes. 

I suppose I was naive about the Oscars when I saw this movie and heard, a few days later, that Quevanzhané Wallis got nominated for best actress. I had never fully paid attention to the Oscars, but I definitely recognized the name as like “OH WOW, THE OSCARS!!!!" 

When they announced the result, I was like “NOOO THE OSCARS HAVE FAILED!!!!!!” only to realize, with more understanding of what the award is and how it works, that the Oscar is and always has been full of fail:
