Dear axe, your ad is horrible. Let me explain how:

1) It objectifies women. 2) It tells young men with female friends that they are not “real men”. 3) It tells young women that “real” men don’t want to be their friends, they only want to “tear” their clothing off. 4) It insults men with braids. 5) It is advertising a crappy body spray.

Okay, that last one was just my opinion. The others are facts.

No, that last one was definitely fact.

And, just as a reminder, the same parent company that owns and produces AXE also produces Dove.  Remember that the next time they claim to be ‘women positive’.

“stop being a friend and start being a man” is one of the most fucked up twisted phrases I have ever seen written with sincerity

Apparently Dove has another “feminist” ad out that people are loving, so it’s time for a periodic reminder that Unilever, which owns Dove, also owns the very misogynistically branded Axe, and that capitalist “activism” is a meaningless lie anyway because capitalism fundamentally relies on exploiting people, including women.

also they still happily market skin bleaching products in South Asia so they can go fuck themselves

THE SAME COMPANY RUNS BOTH

Just a friendly reminder that while the “real beauty” campaign has the right idea, and that video that’s circulating seems awesome, that they don’t actually practice what they preach.

Not to mention there are still a lot of issues in regards to inclusion and what bodies aren’t even making it into the “real beauty” ads.

Ok; carry on.

will do anything for some more numbers in their bank accounts, disgusting.

both campaigns essentially demonstrate that Dove views women’s bodies as a prop to sell soap.

Essentially what dove says in their campaigns are “You’re beautiful! Fix that frizzy hair and dark underarms ??? Try our product to make your beautiful self glow!!!! You’re beautiful!!!!!”

Which is kinda creepy as fuck.

I already knew the dove campaign was bullshit but I didn’t realize they were owned with axe :/
