Since pride month is coming up:

- Don’t complain/shame people for public displays of affection. Doing so is sheer homophobia, no matter what. I don’t care if you say “all pda grosses me out” - if you don’t like it, don’t go to Pride. Plain and simple. Gay people have been fighting to be able to even HOLD HANDS in public, for cryin’ out loud.

- Don’t sexualize gay people either. Saying “yeah I’m fine with pda but I just don’t want people humping in public!!!” Is JUST as bad as saying the above. NOBODY is being overly sexual in public, and even if they are, that’s a personal issue, not an issue with Pride as a whole.

- Straight trans/nonbinary people exist, and they belong at Pride. If you’re going to complain about cishets, SAY CISHETS. Straight trans/nonbinary people are our friends, and we need to welcome them with open arms.

- Bi people who are in a relationship with someone of the opposite gender are STILL BI. They belong at Pride too. If you say otherwise, you’re being biphobic, and you really need to rethink your priorities.

- Not everybody is okay with being called the Q slur. It’s fine to reclaim it for yourself, but do NOT apply it to others without their prior consent. Same goes for any other slur, such as the F slur, D slur, and T slur.

But seriously to all bi girls who don’t quite know how their attraction works, to all bi girls who doubt their bi-ness, to all bi girls who used to identify as another label, to all bi girls who are now thinking of identifying as another label, to all bi girls who get frustrated when someone says you’re either a lesbian or straight because, goddammit, you’re bi, to all bi girls who feel lost and excluded, I’m here for you, I love you, you’re going to be okay.

whoever’s reading this, i pray that you find happiness. not temporary happiness, or “if i pretend and put on a smile & laugh, maybe i’ll be happy” kind of happiness, but long lasting real happiness. the kind of happiness that makes ur face glow & lights up ur soul. you deserve it

hey a reminder that sexual intrusive thoughts are not sexual fantasies. sexual fantasies are about what you desire and sexual intrusive thoughts are about what scares you the most and your intrusive thoughts say a hell of a lot more about what you DONT want than about what you do. youre okay and youre safe and youre not whatever it is your intrusive thoughts want you to think you are. youre fine.

if you have a hard time knowing for sure that your intrusive thoughts arent actually fantasies, fantasies will make you feel good. intrusive thoughts wont. if the thoughts scare you, worry you, or stress you out, theyre not fantasies. promise

also groinal responses are a thing and they dont mean you actually want to engage in what your intrusive thoughts are saying

this is so important i dont think most people know about involuntary groinal responses in conjunction with intrusive thoughts/sexual obsessions, and its really important and vital for everyone to know that groinal responses dont indicate desire or interest in the sexual intrusive thought. your intrusive thoughts do not represent your tendencies, desires, interests, or actions you will take, they are your FEARS.

1. janelle explicitly stated that she identifies with BOTH bi and pan labels

2. she was so respectful in her coming out interview and didn’t even say anything close to this lmao. people who look her up and see this shit as an explanation of pansexuality and the implication that bisexuality doesn’t include trans people is a disgrace to janelle, bisexual people, AND the people trying to learn more about pansexuality

honestly i dislike asura a lot. actually i really hate them. like while i enjoy their aesthetics and they are my favorite race to draw, i really hate them. i hate how they constantly fling ableism to every fucking direction, i hate how ableist their whole social structure seems to be, i hate how they consider all other species inferior, i hate how rotten and corrupt their government is. i just really cant stand them at all and the constant ableism makes me incredibly uncomfortable.

also i especially hate that one fucking asura in mabon market who keeps saying “i need able-bodied and able-minded help. you look at least half the part.” as part of that event. i avoid crafting there now because i start feeling sick every time i hear that.

My issue is that there are a lot of people who mainly play asura and don’t acknowledge this. Like I have 3 asura, and I love them, but I’m aware that their whole damn race gives off white supremacists vibes.

yeah like its almost the bare minimum to just acknowledge the existence of these issues and yet so many people just dismiss these issues or even worse, try to justify it

I relate heavily to this, and because of how friggin awful they are as a society, few, excluding one inquest one who’s a horrible person anyway, no longer live in that ableist, corrupt, xenophobic hellhole. And it sucks cus it’s a cool city.

This place is run by assholes, and filled with assholes.

Like how did this happen?

I really agree with all of this and I hope yall don’t mind me adding on another point but like. Because of their incredibly production based, school based, always achieving greater based society I don’t even think Asura as a species are that much smarter than any of the other ones. They value and push intelligence, in a way that can be obviously paralleled in Asian and Asian-American culture. Like saying “all asura are just smarter” to me if very similar to using the steriotype that “all Asians are just smarter” (racist and also wrong btw). It’s just that their culture values these specific things- always striving, always being the best, always valuing someone based on their aspirations and accomplishments in an academic field. I was only able to play an asura after this because mine just don’t fit the mold, and are outcasts in asura-only society. And yeah, you know what that kind of society fosters? Extreme anxiety in young people, that they take into adulthood, and also extreme ableism. Asura rub me the wrong way for these very reasons that are listed, their entire culture is basically based on ableism. I think there’s maybe a handful of npcs I can even stand to listen to because you put an asura in any situation with ANYONE even other asura, and they start going off about how the other person is stupid and they’re so much better. Honestly the only asura I really like are mine and my friend’s and ocs, and the ocs of others I’ve seen on tumblr that kind of understand this.

lemme tell yall, my mom came to america when she was around 4 y/o and went to school in america and the white kids made jokes about her name becus her name was MyDung. when she was old enough she changed her legal name to a more “acceptable” one becus she was afraid it wouldnt b seen professional in america. she was too embarrassed to say her name out loud. when she did have to, she’d say it quietly. ever since i was a kid i would notice her behavior when ppl asked her name. so yeah fuckin SHOUTOUT to vietnamese kids w/ vietnamese names who get teased, yall amazing

Alright, this post has been going around and I think it’s high time for a lesson in Vietnamese. People who tease foreigners about their names, sit the fuck down and let me show you what those names mean.

_ “Phúc” (Phuc) means phúc đức, phúc hậu, hạnh phúc - kindness, merit and happiness.  _ “Đam”, “Đàm” (Dam) mean yên tĩnh, yên lòng, an tâm - tranquility, calmness, relief. _ “Bích” (Bich) means ngọc bích, ngọc lục bảo - emerald, jade (can be understood as both the color and the precious gemstones). _ “Sơn” (Son) means núi, mạnh mẽ và uy nghiêm như núi - mountains, as strong and majestic as the mountains. _ “Đạt” (Dat) means thành đạt, vẻ vang - success, honor, glory. _ “Nga” (Nga) means xinh đẹp, tốt đẹp - beauty, kindness. _ “Đông” (Dong) means mùa đông, hướng đông - winter, East. _ “Dũng” (Dung) means dũng mãnh, anh dũng - strength, power, bravery. _ “Dung” (Dung) means xinh đẹp, yêu kiều - beauty, elegance, grace.

Can you see it? Can you see how beautiful these names are? And you dare compare them to your vulgar profanities?

Names are extremely important in Vietnamese culture. They represent the virtues, qualities, characteristics that parents want their children to possess. They represent the hopes and dreams of Vietnamese parents. THEY REPRESENT A VERY HUMAN BEING.

WHEN YOU TEASE SOMEONE ABOUT THEIR NAME, YOU ARE NOT ONLY INSULTING THEM, YOU ARE MAKING THEM ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES, OF THEIR OWN NAME AND THEIR OWN LANGUAGE, EVEN THEIR OWN ORIGIN.

DO NOT MAKE FUN OF OUR PEOPLE, DO NOT MAKE FUN OF OUR LANGUAGE AND DO NOT MAKE FUN OF OUR CULTURE.

both kelly marie tran (rose tico) and veronica ngo (paige tico) are SOUTHeast asians yep they are not east asians. although southeast asians and east asians share some similar features they are not interchangeable at all and southeast asians are much less represented so yea all i want to say is i hope you all don’t erase their identity (such as calling them east asians & using east asians in their edits). plus southeast asia countries are not interchangeable either so don’t forget they are vietnamese women thank you

Bisexuals are bisexual even if they’re married or in a committed relationship They did not “choose one way or the other” Their bisexuality is not a phase that they grew out of They just found someone that they happened to fall in love with Just like anyone else in a committed relationship They Are Still Bisexual

South Asian people using their hand to eat rice is not something abnormal or gross.. It’s our tradition and it’s just as normal as East Asians using chopsticks.

Also if you think the hand is gross or not clean enough for us to pick our food but you think it’s clean enough for you to hold your pizza, burger then just letting you know you are fuckin hypocrite lol

lowkey don’t like how ppl are tagging this as unsanitary

I eat curry and rice with my hands and let me tell you…it’s a sacred technique

Americans eat food with our fingers all the fucking time. It’s ridiculous to call it unsanitary… unless your hands are dirty.

Guys it’s not rocket science

You just eat the food With your hand?

Are your hands clean? Then you’re fine.

it’s highkey racist tagging this as unsanitary.

everyone who tagged this with #unsanitary is a fuckin racist and is no longer ever allowed to eat anything with their bare hands ever again

There is a technique to eating with our fingers that white people don’t know. The way Westerners eat with their hands is downright unsanitary and it has nothing to do with how we do it. There is an entire etiquette laid down in Buddhist writings on the proper and sanitary way to eat with our fingers and it is so delicate and refined that it makes most people who stab away with their cutlery look gross in comparison.

We scrub our hands thoroughly before we eat.

We only use our right hand for eating (unless you’re a leftie) and then the food can only come up to the inside of the second knuckle and the fingers do not touch the tongue or inside of the mouth.

The left hand never touches the food if you are eating a rice-based dish and if you are eating bread, the left is only used to help tear and never touches the plate.

You’re supposed to push the food into the mouth with your thumb.

Food does not touch the palm.

Your cheeks are not supposed to bulge when eating.

Food is not supposed to spill or smear anywhere.

It is also considered gross to lick your fingers. Saliva does not make contact with one’s hands at any point.

Unless you’ve spent years learning, you won’t be able to do this properly. Conversely, I only started using cutlery to eat when I was 14 and picked it up fine.

Most South Asians find cutlery somewhat off-putting because they’ve been in other people’s mouths and we don’t know how clean they are, especially at restaurants. And yet we adapt and don’t go around calling other people’s ways of life unsanitary and barbaric.

Don’t be ignorant and supremacist, please.

Note: the bit about licking your fingers does not apply to Muslim South Asians. We’re encouraged to do so because it follows the example of the Prophet and also because it reduces food waste. But only after we’re done eating, and then there’s a specific order (pinkie to thumb). Everything else @pornyplothead said is accurate. Y'all don’t know jack shit about South Asian mealtime etiquette.

Thanks @amethystinia. I stand corrected. There are also such variations among the many, many South Asian cultures and they all have specific dictates concerning hygiene and consuming food without mess or waste. Our cultures are extremely old and our traditions have kept us hale and hearty all that time. Respect them.
