Jonathan doesn't hate his mom or resent her for being unable to be there all the time. When you don't have a partner, and you're trying to save the world, it can be fucking tough to be a parent. He isn't traumatized by being a big brother. He loves it. It's physically impossible to save the world and also be there for your kids 24/7. It doesn't mean that Joyce isn't a good parent. It just means she's human. Are there things that I wish Joyce hadn't done? Yes, but you'll pick any character with this show and find that they did something you don't like. YOU'VE DONE THINGS YOU DIDN'T LIKE. Joyce would go to hell and back for all of her kids. In order for her to do everything right by them, Joyce Byers would have to fucking clone herself. She's managed to save her kids WITHOUT fucking powers. Jonathan loves his mom and Will. To insinuate that Joyce is neglectful would be a huge insult to Jonathan.
