Character sheet for Rook from Havemercy by Jaida Jones and Danielle Bennett. Figured it’d be a good idea to get my interpretation of the characters down before I do a comic like I want to. I won’t lie, he’s fun to draw.

As some of you may be aware, Jaida and I have never been able to put a real life face to Rook in the game of secret mental casting.
Until now.
(Travis Fimmel stars in VIKINGS on the History Channel. Which also features George Blagden, Jaida's latest pick for Thom-lookalike.)
So damascened had this idea for an AU where Royston is a uni professor and Hal is a student reading English and loves fairy tales. Anyway, the main point is, Royston is really bitchy about Hal’s wardrobe choices, because Hal wears T-shirts and jeans and stuff, and of course Royston is having none of it.
And then Rook and Thom happened to be walking by.
OH GOD MODERN AUS MY MORTAL WEAKNESS grabby hands. Royston has the most perfectly weary expressions in the whole wide world. You can't actually grade people based on their outfits but that doesn't stop him from trying. Thom's gonna have to step up his game.

Look at this gorgeous girl! (And what about her gorgeous rider, Rook would like to know, but he is not to be encouraged.) The detail in this is stunning, gosh, gosh. Can't wait to see it finished!

I just have to say that going by the art I've seen since the new year, 2013 is the year of maybe kissing your fictional brother NO JUDGMENT.
Luring people into a false sense of security is Rook's favorite downtime hobby.

This made me shriek with laughter I'm not even going to lie. That pause where Thom's clearly wanting to chastise him but by now he knows better than to even try it. "Well all right then you saved the country I suppose you know best." Because you know that's a card Rook plays ALL THE TIME.
Silly Rook, even heroes need to eat solid foods now and then.
I still prefer the unfinished version. Which is sort of sad, I suppose…
And I really, really should draw more Havemercy fanart, but it’s not my fault that everything turns into RS. It’s Sirius’ fault, everything is Sirius’ fault.
This is gorgeous! Whenever i see Rook's hair I get very sad that mine was always too fine to hold a really satisfying braid. That's about the only trait of Rook's I wish I had. Probably.
