Happy ! by Regina Via Flickr: This funny looking fellow is my favourite of the Arabian foals at Marbach. As you can see he was about to shed his baby coat when I took this photo. I think this shows quite well that with every change of coat the young Arabian horses also change colour. This foal will get grey or even white when he grows up.

Young and Proud by Regina Via Flickr: This is another one of the Arabian foals at Marbach. One thing I love about the foals is that (unlike their mothers) they aren't only interested in grass, grass and more grass. Instead they love to pose for photos too. :)

Nice to meet you ! by Regina Via Flickr: Here is one of several Arabian foals I met at Marbach. It's always a delight to see them but taking photos wasn't easy this time as they were on a pasture with very long grass in which the foals almost disappeared. :)

Mother and son on the pasture by Regina Via Flickr: A warmblood mare and her foal on a pasture at Marbach. It often seems to worry horses when I'm lying or sitting on the ground to take photos and they come closer to check if I'm okay. :)

Grass inspection by Regina Via Flickr: Apart from the Arabian horses, Marbach also breeds German warmbloods and this is one of the foals of this year. Although they mainly feed on their mother's milk, they eat grass too and the pasture is of course full of interesting things to discover.
