The ultimate beachcomber by Shelly Lynn Hachey O Via Flickr: This wild beautiful coastal brown bear focused on her objective of digging clams while the tide was out - only a few times did she raise her head to inquire on her surroundings. She was very successful in her pursuit of finding clams beneath the tidal surface.
I wonder; They wander by Shelly Lynn Hachey O Via Flickr: Mother Grizzly and cub (taken in Jasper this Spring). I have thought about these two for the last few months, hoping they survived the wildfire in Jasper and found a safe place to gain the weight and strength they need for the season as they go into torpor this winter. Here’s hoping nature found a way.
Maybe she's born with it, Maybe it's May-bear-line by Shelly Lynn Hachey O Via Flickr: This Coastal Brown Bear, from Alaska, was searching for clams as the tide was out. She had her head down (as most bears do) but lifted just as the right time in my direction. She sure was a beauty (I was going to edit out her string of slobber but kind it adds to her clam digging appetite).

When life doesn't come with a manual, it comes with a momma bear by Shelly Lynn Hachey O Via Flickr: Momma teaching life skills to her young bear cub (you can see by the dirt on their noses they had been digging for food).

The start of the salmon run in this particular Lake Clark National Park & Preserve river system was three weeks late in commencing, and had just started about 90 minutes before we flew in...
Cautious Approach of Brown Bear Yearling Cub by David & Shiela Glatz Via Flickr: Female Brown Bear cub (Ursus arctos) approaches cautiously on the coast of the Cook Inlet, Alaska. Her mother was right behind her, so she didn't need to be so careful. We did and we backed off accordingly to give the bears plenty of room. Lake Clark National Park, AK.

Brown Bear Yearling Closeup by David & Shiela Glatz Via Flickr: Curious Brown Bear (Ursus arctos) yearling, Cook Inlet, Alaska. Honestly didn't think this was one of our better images from the June 2012 trip, but it's been very popular. Adding to more groups - let us know what you think. This little female cub lost her sibling the year before. She stayed close to mom and played a lot with her. Gradually realized we weren't a threat and showed some curiosity towards us as you see here.

Spring Grizzly Cub - 4832b+ by Jen Hall Via Flickr: Since the first grizzly out of hibernation has been spotted in Grand Teton, I thought I would post this cutie from a few years ago. They are so fun in the snow.

A Pair of Brown Bears - DSC07573a by Ronald Todd Via Flickr: Grizzly (Alaska Brown Bear) female nonchalantly walking right in front of me!!! Shortly, she got too big fit in my frame. All she was interested in was fishing. I was just another part of the scenery.
Brown Bears with salmon - DSC07810 by Ronald Todd Via Flickr: Grizzly (Alaska Brown Bear) with half of a salmon. A seagull looks on, to see if there will be an opportunity to get some scraps. One of her cubs comes in for a share, too.
