Bear Necessities (Katmai National Park & Preserve) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: I captured this image at the Falls Platform with a view looking to the northeast at Brooks Falls while observing brown bears in Katmai National Park. The image is of several male brown bears in the river and falls area attempting to catch salmon to eat. I pulled back a lot on the focal length to capture much more of the falls and surrounding area. My thinking was to include all the bears present and capture the feeling of this wildlife and national park setting.

Scratching an Itch While Standing on the Edge of Brooks Falls (Katmai National Park & Preserve) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: I captured this with my Nikon D800E SLR camera using a Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 lens. I was at the Falls Platform with a view looking to the northeast at the Brooks Falls while observing brown bears in Katmai National Park. What I liked about this image was how the bear was either scratching himself or getting tired of the flies around as he stood on the waterfall edge.

The ultimate beachcomber by Shelly Lynn Hachey O Via Flickr: This wild beautiful coastal brown bear focused on her objective of digging clams while the tide was out - only a few times did she raise her head to inquire on her surroundings. She was very successful in her pursuit of finding clams beneath the tidal surface.

Maybe she's born with it, Maybe it's May-bear-line by Shelly Lynn Hachey O Via Flickr: This Coastal Brown Bear, from Alaska, was searching for clams as the tide was out. She had her head down (as most bears do) but lifted just as the right time in my direction. She sure was a beauty (I was going to edit out her string of slobber but kind it adds to her clam digging appetite).
