This has gone on for too long

i did not care for bojack horseman. i wasnt a fan

it doesn’t know when it wants to be a comedy and when it wants to be a hyper-serious drama. when it gets serious, it takes itself so seriously. so much of it is just painfully depressing to watch that i walked away from it wondering why I’m watching bojack never win and keep having awful things happen to him

“well that’s the whole point you’re- you’re not supposed to be rooting for bojack because he’s an awful awful man”

well i understand that but-

“the whole point is that happy endings don’t exist in the real world!”

i understand that but let me ask you this- who am i supposed to be rooting for? people like diane? why am i forced to follow bojack the whole time, then? to be reminded how shitty life is and how shitty people are? i am not bojack, and i will never be bojack. this is not a cautionary tale that will apply to me, so why am i watching? and if it’s trying to send a message about the reality of real world consequences, why is every episode stuffed with absurdist comedy and fantastical people and scenarios that do not exist?

“the scenarios are subtle metaphors, something you clearly don’t understand.”

i enjoyed invincible. that is my answer to that statement.

youre allowed to have opinions just dont explain why you dislike something or compare it to something you do like
