Your sofa is not comfortable. You never noticed how hard it feels against your back as you try to find a better position while watching questionable videos at 4 in the morning. 

It doesn’t matter, rest is for people who can turn shut their brain off. You can’t. It’s been a month. A whole thirty-one days of going back to a life made of instant noodles and drooling on your favourite fluffy pillow. 

Today is Friday and after numerous rejections, your friends gave up and stopped forcing you to join them into some fancy bar. It doesn’t feel right to be partying like this, especially when you feel like rolling yourself into your blanket like a burrito.

Mark has great veins. It’s a fact. 

You don’t think you’ll ever get tired of watching them. They form slender bumps under his creamy skin, tracing paths you love to caress. You sigh. How much more tempting does he have to be? Dating Mark is like a patience test on level insane. It takes a lot of willpower not to jump him whenever you can.

Mark knows it. He sees you whine and grab his face, obviously resisting when he smiles too wide or acts cute just to rile you up.

It’s not like it’s the only thing you adore about Mark. On top of being extremely delicate and handsome, he has a soft side you can’t live without. Some might call it extreme quietness, but you know better than refer to Mark as a quiet person. He does have a wild side which he only shows to his dearest people. In a sense, you understand him; he exposes himself when he is sure he can and you approve of that.

“Can you see me?”

You roll on your stomach, arms grabbing your pillow to let your phone rest on it. Your screen shows your boyfriend, freshly out of the shower and drying his hair.

“Yep!” You raise a thumb at the screen and see him smiling, hands busy as he takes a sit on a chair.

“It’s more stable with a laptop, how do you manage with your tiny phone?” His voice is playful and even though you can barely see his face behind the long towel, you can feel how amused he is.

“It’s my will to see you, Jaebeommie.” You tease, laughing when he stops to glare playfully at you over his webcam.

“I’m shirtless and still wet yet you call me Jaebeommie? I might step up my game next time…” he teases, his voice going deeper.

“Your voice is sexy…” You whisper, hiding behind your pillow and earning a groan from him. “Your hair has gotten so long, when will you cut it?” you ask when you see him shake his head.

You can’t stand his pettiness and judgemental stare but when you hear about him moving abroad, you agree to work for his uncle’s company. You don’t expect him to come back and make your life miserable again.

He is back. 

Out of everyone you don’t wish to see, the worst of them is before you. He makes you take a deep breath and close your eyes, doing your best not to burst out in tears because of course it could only be him.

Why the fuck did you accept the job at his uncle’s company?

You seriously thought this wouldn’t happen. Jinyoung had a big mouth about ambition and leaving this hell-hole he called home. He used to laugh evilly at your mediocre grades, his eyes looking at you with pure disgust as he muttered how hard life was going to be if you kept doing so poorly. 

You would shove him away every single time, chirping insults and making him laugh harder.

Oh, Jinyoung loved riling you up.
