I found out not too long ago about these interesting sea creatures! The deepstaria jellyfish, and more specifically deepstaria enigmatica, which have an interesting relationship with isopods.
Deepstaria jellyfish open and close their bell to take in and trap prey, so you'd think an isopod might get eaten by this peculiar jelly. However, isopods seem to remain uneaten and even thrive inside this jellyfish!
We don't fully understand their relationship, but scientists believe deepstaria enigmatica provides protection for the isopods, which also gain nutrients from hanging out inside their bell.
There's also the possibility of a parasitic relationship, but aren't all pets kind of like parasites?
