A different kind of pet portrait—Tulip the opossum! Her caretaker told me she was found as a baby and was blind, so she couldn’t be released to the wild. I had a lot of fun drawing those ears and that pink nose!

Another look at Mr. Pheasant. Adding a background was a little foreign to me, but I love how it turned out. I took inspiration from the bird artist Basil Ede. Often emulating another artists’ work can teach us a lot, and we can make it our own!
