Long time no see! Still over here doing pet portraits. This was a favorite I did recently. A cat named Chick-Fil-A.
I got to do double the portraiture of Coco, who by all accounts sounds like the most incredible dog. ❤️
Etsy shop is closed for a few weeks, but I’ll be back October 25th and open for holiday portraits!
Ode to Okra ~ since moving to the south, I have discovered its wonders.
Been quite a while since I did any field sketching, so I’m a little rusty, but getting back in the groove!
Teddy the miniature schnauzer is just too cute! Loved doing his portrait. ☺️
Sometimes you flip through old sketchbooks and find some gems! Pheasant practice for a commission a couple years back.
A different kind of pet portrait—Tulip the opossum! Her caretaker told me she was found as a baby and was blind, so she couldn’t be released to the wild. I had a lot of fun drawing those ears and that pink nose!
Hey y’all. Sometimes the inspiration to draw leaves me, while new ventures distract me. It’s been that way for a few months, during which I also neglected to show you some of my pet portraits from the holidays. So here are a couple of kitties that I drew this past year.
Hoping to get back to drawing regularly, especially living things of the leafy variety.
With a name like Diamond, it only made sense to paint her as royalty! I have to say, I have SO much fun looking at old paintings to find outfit inspiration for these. 👑💎
Bentley’s holiday portrait! 🐶 The shop is back open and portrait commissions are available! Hope you are all having a more positive new year.
Bailey’s portrait before being packaged up and sent to its new home! I loved drawing his adorable snowflake sweater.
Happy New Year’s Eve! After a year that was tumultuous for everyone, I hope the next year finds you enjoying life’s simple moments again. I am looking forward to returning to bird watching, foraging, and hiking in the warmer weather. Being an artist has made me a keen observer, and I hope to sharpen my skills in this next year!
I loved working on Nina, a beautiful Chartreux who lives in France. 🇫🇷 I have a stack of pet portraits I’d love to share now that Christmas has passed. Hope you all are having a great holiday season, if not with family, then with your furry friends!
Hi! I love your art!!! I was wondering if you know of any colored pencil tutorials online or if you make them too? It's fine if you don't tho. Thanks :D Have a nice day!
Thank you! I know the artist Kendyll Hillegas has some great videos on her YouTube channel and often livestreams on her Instagram, so you could check her out! I don’t have any tutorials myself, but one of my goals for 2021 is to start making more videos.
Red-Breasted Nuthatch mini prints are back in stock! I also have one more magnet of this guy available. I’ll be closing my store for the year on 12/20, so if there’s something you’re eyeing, order soon!
The remaining Inktober originals from 2019 are on sale until my shop closes for the year on 12/20! Prints of all of them are on Society6!
I’m finishing up Christmas commissions, so there won’t be much new work posted until after the holidays, but I have some goodies that will be posted in the new year.
I just wanted to let you know that the painting you posted of the Lily Siobhan cat looks *exactly* like my grandmother's cat, Boots. I'd honestly forgotten that cat until I saw the picture. We buried my grandmother's sister today, and seeing that on my dash was like having my grandmother drop a message saying my aunt got to her just fine and they're okay. So I just wanted to say thank you so very much for that.
Oh my goodness! I’m so sorry about your aunt, but I’m glad my drawing gave you a beautiful sign. I’ve had quite a few people say Lily Siobhan looks like their cats. Lily’s parent told me she is a very special guardian for their family. Maybe all cats that look like her are guardians too.
