The key to understanding Leonard McCoy is that he only ACTS like he hates everyone and everything. Underneath that sarcastic abrasive middle aged man is a fundamental love for living creatures, desire to help others so strong that he made a career of it and a respect for the simple joys, which occasionally show their face when he's turning on the southern charm for a woman or offering to sacrifice himself to save a patient. I mean, you'd probably be a bit grumpy too if your marriage ended and you were stuck in space (a place you hate) trying to stop your best friends getting themselves killed when you could be spending time with your daughter. He's not surly and outspoken because he doesn't care, he's surly and outspoken precisely because he cares so much and yes, that has got him hurt before and probably will again but dammit, he's not going to let that stop him being what he is - an old country doctor who will do anything he can to help people. I love his sardonic witty banter as much as anyone but I think the real reason we take him into our hearts is because despite his complaining he's arguably the most down-to-earth, no-nonsense character in TOS and deep down we all admire his simple selfless dedication to caring for others. Never change, Bones.

daniel molloy is a true hater. he doesn't just think "wow this place a freakshow. i don't respect literally any of you people", he SAYS it, including to multiple vampires who can and kind of want to kill him. he says it to himself, past, present, AND future. no one is hating like this man.

The best little fanon thing they confirmed for me was making the Bentley a little pet. Cause in the book it’s just a one off joke about how the CDs turn into queen if you leave them in A car long enough but it’s like no…the Bentley loves aziraphale and gives him sweets and plays whatever he wants and turns yellow for him and parks where he tell it to and plays “a nightingale sang in Berkeley square” when crowley is heartbroken and plays “good old fashioned lover boy” when crowley is racing back to help aziraphale. And crowley coos to it like it’s a puppy. Love that car

Why are there so many posts that are genuinely upset about the season two ending. I went into the tag and saw so many people bitching about how queer people deserve happy endings, and this isn't the end?

The story is set up as a trilogy, a three part story. And the second part pretty much always ends in angst and drama? It ramps up the stakes, emotionally and plot wise.

Like how Han Solo gets frozen in carbonite after the love confession at the end of Empire. Like how LotR The Two Towers ends with Frodo and Sam separated and Frodo captured by orcs. How Peeta and Katniss are separated at the end of Catching Fire.

This is classic storytelling. The happy ending is coming, which yes, we deserve. But we also deserve a well told, drawn out romance with plot, angst, drama and character development.

Calm down. Write some fic. Enjoy the ride.
