"Cut off a wolf's head and it still has the power to bite."
A pride piece I threw together to celebrate my transness and self expression. There are times when I feel like a wolf in sheep's clothing, convincingly girly to closed eyes as I walk around in a thick cloak of makeup and jewelry. In these times I realize both how far I've come and how far I still have to go. I feel neither human nor wolf in those moments, however, I continue to navigate the darkness of myself with my nose in hopes it leads me to a quiet lake.
Happy Pride 2021 to my fellow trans folks who fight for their lives every day.

The wolf blood, Arya remembered now. I’ll be as strong as Robb, I said I would. She took a deep breath, then lifted the broomstick in both hands and brought down across her knee. It broke with a loud crack, and she threw the pieces aside. “I am a direwolf, and done with the wooden teeth.”
