I feel like all you Americans need to take a look at what happened here in the UK after Maggie Thatcher died. Because when it comes to tasteless celebrations fuelled by anger and the death of a hated political leader, we REALLY pushed the boat out. We had street parties. We had burning effigies. We pushed “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead” to the top of the charts out of sheer hatred. Bone up kiddos, and I really hope you manage to do that truly American thing, of dramatically outdoing us with your celebrations.

Now that I’m studying bio, may I just say how fervently I wish my primary association with the words “alpha, beta, omega” was literally anything other than what it is
My nutrition professor was talking about vitamins and said, “the only reason you all even know the words alpha and omega is because of sororities,” and I wanted so badly to raise my hand and be like “if you’re gonna be a dick for some reason, please let me explain to you in depth my immediate connotations for those words”

this is a v deep philosophical question, (lol @ john being a gentleman ahsdajsskd) but ya, they’re both SO Romantic so I understand your confusion. my outlook here is that, John would probably WANT to, but at this early stage, he would still be unlearning the Anti Sentiment Sherlock assumptions he has… John would want this to be sososo Special and to treat Sherlock So Right, but then he’d also imagine himself bringing in the food and Sherlock lifting one brow and saying “Really, John?”, and teasing him a bit and feeling how cliche it is, so John holds off to see what the mood is going to be the next morning
WHEREAS, at this point, I’m imagining Sherlock snuck out early, did some elaborate god knows what, and then busts into the room startling John from sleep with this huge tray of WAY Too much food cause he read it in a magazine on how to keep your partner happy and he wants John to be happy and to stay with him forever, and John just looks from the tray to Sherlock’s face, to the tray, and Sherlock is DYINg inside, but still tries to save face by being like “Too much?” but his voice wavers a lil giving him away, and John’s whole entire heart melts and oozes out through the Softest Look in his eyes and he’s like “no-no - it’s perfect. you just beat me to it.” and Sherlock smiles relieved and puts the tray over John and slides back into bed and then eats lots of little bites off of John’s tray and they are soSOsososo happy and John is like He is The Softest Man Alive and they laugh about it later

You know who donated most of the $1,400,000 raised by this year’s Project for Awesome? Teen girls. You know who were the first supporters and collaborators for online video projects from Lonelygirl15 to Brotherhood 2.0 to Five Awesome Girls? Teen girls.
This whole teen-girls-are-stupid-and-vapid shit is just so played out. Teen girls are human beings. They are not inferior to other human beings. Their lives and contributions are as interesting and as complicated and as meaningful as anyone else’s.
