Compassion for others doesn’t exists in the so-called “family values” of the Republican Party.

Republicans are not statesmen, they are poison. Every spending bill is used as a hostage to exploit their ‘austerity for the poor’ and ‘welfare for the rich’.

These same Republicans have every benefit they are trying to cut.

i have a friend who has been taking birth control since she was 12 because she’s anemic and if she didn’t take it she would bleed out excessively during her period and end up in the hospital

dont fucking tell me that birth control isn’t crucial to people

i take birth control because it makes me not have periods and it makes me feel less dysphoric because im transgender

don’t fucking tell me that birth control isn’t crucial to people.

I take birth control to prevent my one and a bit remaining ovaries from growing any more large cysts that could result in the loss of my fertility and/or life Don’t fucking tell me that birth control isn’t crucial to people

If I were going to describe the perfect contraceptive, it would go something like this: no babies, no latex, no daily pill to remember, no hormones to interfere with mood or sex drive, no negative health effects whatsoever, and 100 percent effectiveness. The funny thing is, something like that currently exists.

The procedure called RISUG in India (reversible inhibition of sperm under guidance) takes about 15 minutes with a doctor, is effective after about three days, and lasts for 10 or more years…

Oh, and when you do decide you want those babies, it only takes one other injection of water and baking soda to flush out the gel, and within two to three months, you’ve got all your healthy sperm again.

The trouble is, most people don’t even know this exists. And if men only need one super-cheap shot every 10 years or more, that’s not something that gets big pharmaceutical companies all fired up, because they’ll make zero money on it (even if it might have the side benefit of, you know, destroying HIV).

can this replace the normal contraception methods we have pls

This has existed for YEARS. They ran an article about it in WIRED magizine but I don’t think anyone read it .-.

Maybe more reblogs then?  Up to a million at least.  We have this technology to get the word out and change the world.

I'm gender queer and having my period gives me some serious dysphoria (on top of it just sucking in general) but I don't just wanna get rid of everything down there with surgery or anything yet because I'm still fairly young and I feel like I might want to have kids eventually maybe. Are there any other options?

I’m not a doctor, but I think that without an hysterectomy getting rid of periods should be impossible.

I found an article (Transgendered men & menstruation) where you can find some videos made by transmen. They talk about their periods and how they experience it. Maybe it can help you?

If someone wants to add something, feel free to do it!

Some bc can greatly reduce periods. The two I know of, and have worked for me, are depo (a shot every 3 months) and nexplanon (a little rod in the arm, lasts 3 years).

Yes, what they said ^

I experience bad dysphoria with a period too. I have no experience with the rod, but I can say that going on the depo provera shot was a godsend for me.

According to my gynecologist at the time (and this is all just from what I remember being told; I'm not a medical professional by any stretch), it was originally developed to help treat uterine diseases & infections, so it tells your body to stop producing the uterine lining at all (rather than telling the body to just not slough it off until a prescribed time, as some bc methods do – the patch, for example). It takes several injections to fully take effect (in terms of menstruation, I mean; I'm sure the actual bc aspect works faster). Some people stop menstruating entirely, while others will still 'spot,' as was my experience, tho after the first few months it was never anything more than what an underwear liner (not even a full pad, I mean) could handle, and rarely lasted more than a day. Granted, even that much may still cause dysphoria, but for myself, anyway, it made a huge difference.

It does take longer to leave your system than other bc methods, iirc, something like 6-12 months from the last dose before you have any reasonable possibility of pregnancy. So it doesn't permanently prevent you from getting pregnant if you want to in the future, but it can mean waiting longer from the time you decide to start trying until you succeed.

Anyway, I could sing depo's praises allll night and day. Hope you find something that works for you ;)

I'm AFAB and I usually end up feeling more on the female side when I get my period, but this time I feel pretty much male and it's only adding to my dysphoria. Sorry, this isn't really a question, I just needed to vent. I really wish I could just have a "desexed" body.

I can appreciate your feelings and can agree with your last statement without reserve!

Anyone else have similar experiences during your periods, those of you who suffer through those?

I used to have hooooorrible dysphoria during my periods! Like I could handle having an AF body, except during those times. The biggest break through for me was getting on depo-provera birth control, which is an injection you get once every 90 days or so and it makes you stop having a period at all. According to my gynecologist, it was originally developed to treat like uterine cancer & such, so it actually makes your body stop producing the uterine lining at all, not like some other methods that make it build up so you have to have a huge period once in a while.

Obviously you need to get with a doctor to figure out if it'd be good for you to try, and some people have migraines on it bc of a reaction to the different hormones in it like any bc, and of course it's not a good option if you're looking to carry biological children any time soon since it takes longer to wear off than other birth controls… Oh and some people think you have to get the injection in your butt, but you don't – I've always gotten mine in my shoulder like any other shot.

But seriously, as far as fighting the dysphoria? This has been the biggest thing for me. It took about 6-10 months for my period to completely go away, but even just having lighter, less frequent periods was a godsend in the meantime, and now it's like that whole gross part of my life is just a distant memory that I never have to deal with again, wheee~

I hope that helps & gives you something to consider at least! Best of luck to you!

It’s happening! I decided to try Redbubble and see how the quality was. They turned out GREAT and I am so excited! The round stickers are 2.5” across, and the rectangular stickers are 3” x 2.5”. I based the sizes off of the kinds of birth control cases I’ve personally encountered. If you need different sizes of the rectangular ones, like mercury’s computer for instance, go ahead and measure your hbc pack and send me the measurements via my askbox. I can put up multiple of the same design in different sizes if there is a need for that.

Also, please follow my personal blog or my art blog to get updates about new sticker designs, price changes, etc! I know $4.00 for an individual sticker might seem steep but Redbubble gives you %50 percent off sticker orders of 6 or more. They don’t all have to be from my redbubble shop, you can mix and match.
