i like to headcanon after gabe got very badly resurrected, he must have ran off and lost his mind for a while, had trouble keeping shape and was altogether intensely traumatized by his new form. He gets picked up by talon and they put him back together, so to speak. When he finally gains enough control over himself he escapes– and they let him. They know he’ll come back. There’s no where else for him to go.
So, here in front of you all, my first and last vow.
Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better But because I knew you I have been changed for good.
Do you ever think about the fact that in TSoT we saw John in Sherlock’s mind palace so we know he exists there, and yet one episode later when Sherlock is shot and John is probably the single most qualified person Sherlock knows who could help in that situation, he’s nowhere to be found?
Do you ever think about the fact that that means Sherlock most likely actively decided to remove John from his mind palace after John got married and you just want to sort of curl up into a ball and maybe weep for a while?
For my giveaway winner, johnandsherlocks.
You will never sleep alone. I’ll love you long after you’re gone And long after you’re gone, gone, gone.
Sooo… subluxing your collarbone really fucking hurts
Cain & Dean Parallels - Extended
Thorin actually fell in love with bilbo after he saved him the first time of azog, Bilbo when he saw how the dragosickness came over thorin. He just realized that he didn't want to see the man he loves as the broken man he was then. (random headcanon. I don't know ;A;)
aww totally anon, i think thorin realized he loved bilbo when he woke up after azog’s attack, asked “the halfing?” and then saw bilbo standing there (and then of course thorin flies into a momentary rage because bILBO YOU COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED??? WHAT WERE YOU DOING??!?).
i love the headcanon that bilbo realized he loved thorin during the dragon sickness, but i feel like bilbo really didn’t face his own feelings for thorin until thorin was… well…. dying. and even then, how much did bilbo confront his feelings for thorin? how much did he admit even to himself? it’s hard to say.
Bilbo’s Song (JRR Tolkien)
does anyone else want to talk about the significance of aragorn looking upon the argonath in the fellowship with this sense of wonder and weight and hope.
while thorin standing aside the likeness of his grandfather/erebor’s equivalent of the argonath is filled with this sense of refusal and fear and defiance.
this moment is so crucial to the differences in their characters and i think it beautifully displays why one rises and one falls.
