Hello again here is another picture for the Jewel-Riders Reboot blog. I’m currently on vacation and decided to draw these character in a traditional way.

Since I’ve already introduced our main JR-trio I thought I’d show other characters who’ll be jewel-riders too further into the story.

At the top we got Ian aka the Prince of the Arden Forest.,cursed by the dark crystal Ians been trapped in the shape of a beast for 600 years and with the help of the Jewel-Riders he’ll be able to break his curse (but not fully) and later he becomes a jewel-rider himself.As you can see his human designs look very different; like in the show thanks to the fairie wraiths he’s able to take human form one day each year ( but as years go by he barely does it anymore). The other design is how he’ll look during the story because he and the others weren’t able to completely cure him from his curse, the only way is to destroy the crystal.

Personality wise he’s a gentle-giant with issues due to his years stuck as a beast tough he’s not as weak as others may see him.

To the bottom left we got another future jewel-rider with his big snake; the troll Murray! Kinda farfetch but I thought it would be a fun idea to have another rider who’s not fully human (he’s part troll and is Tamaras cousin). He’s a big snark who lives in the Misty Moors with his pet snake in his botanic house.

Next to Murray we got new designs of Drake and princess Gwen. I wasn’t that happy with their first re-designs and updated them.

Then up to the left corner we got our last character to introduce: princess Tara the younger sister to Gwen and Starla. She’s a shy wallflower who spends most of her times with the baby animals since her parents are busy taking care of the kingdoms after the jewels disappeared and sister Gwen is caught up in her training and duties as the crown-princess Starla’s the family member she genuinely feels close too, but know that Starlas a jewel-rider Tara starts feeling left behind again.

I’ll do a profile and full design of these characters in the future alongside their pets and jewels.

Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders reboot

Backstory

Thought I could write down the current backstory of the Jewel Riders Reboot. I wanted to give more background to their world and what role the jewels play.

Far away in the past the people of the lands lived in tranquil peace with the seven grand spirits serving and protecting the world. One day an evil source from beyond caused chaos and destruction in its way. The spirits fought against it but in their battle they wrecked the lands and left in in a poisons waste.

A group of wizards called for the spirits to save the last living creatures of the dying world. The spirits heard their call and made a new land for the survivors naming it Aavalon with each land holding a small piece of their powers in the form of jewels to protect them until they could cure their old home. Before they left the taught the wizards how to make jewels similar to theirs so that in case the evil force would reach their island they would have ways to fight against it.

Thus the first Jewel Riders where made.

The Jewel Riders protected the lands from all sort of evil and thing where peaceful for generations until a powerful witch named Morgana started a war against the riders with the use of her powerful Dark Crystal.

Her former teacher Merlin and second sister Morgause joined the riders and fought against her army of crystal monsters. At the final battle the crown princess Gwendolyn railed her riders to summon the One Jewel –the most powerful jewel of all to stop the dark witch. Unfortunately while they stopped the witch the summoning failed and the jewels scattered over the lands, hidden for many years.

6 years has passed since the royal family adopted Starla. She grew living in the crown-princess Gweneveres shadow but tables as turned as Starla’s the new bearer of the Sun-stone instead of Gwen.

Now Starla, Fallon and Tamara must fight against Morgana and stop her plans to steal the lost enchanted jewels.

Welcome fellow Jewel Riders fans to the Jewel Riders Rebbot blog!

My “name” is @hubbabubbagumpop, I made this blog to archive my ideas (and mostly art) of a updated version of the 90′s cartoon Princess Gwenevere/Starla and the Jewel Riders. 

Take note that I won’t post things daily due to studies and other stories I wish to develop but if you have any question I’ll gladly answer them quickly as possible!

Hey here’s more Jewel Riders reboot art, here’s Drake of the wolfpack and princess Gwenevere of New Camelot.

Before you ask I didn’t change the design of Starla/Gwenevere from my last Jewel Riders post. I thought that since the show had two different names why not have split the original princess into two characters?

As for Drake the only thing I changed about him is his jewel. Instead of a forest-stone he uses a water-stone (as omage to his home the Riverdells) He’s still in the wolfpack but his job’s to protect the Riverdells. He’s also engaged to Gwenevere.
