For pride month I crocheted a bunch of gay stuffies for people at work to take if they want 🥹🏳️‍🌈 (wish me luck I am in the Bible Belt) happy Pride Month! I love you all

There are bigger problems rn but it makes me sad how we clown on and invalidate bisexual women for having boyfriends. Like statistically it makes sense if a lot of bisexual women end up with men because there are more men attracted to women in the world than women attracted to women, it’s safer and easier to find those pairings because of homophobia, and other reasons. It’s just a numbers thing. The underlying message of the “bisexual women and their boyfriends” joke is that they are just following a fad or are faking it or aren’t really queer. That’s biphobic :/ We are still fucking bi. And a lot of us found our men partners before it was safe or possible for us to come out. But I still faced the struggles and shame and abuse from the church due to being queer growing up. I still had all the classic wlw experiences. I still fucking love women. It’s still an important aspect of who I am in order for me to be my most authentic self. Regardless of who I am dating I deserve space in this community. (But I can also recognize my privilege my current relationship has. Those two things aren’t mutually exclusive) idk for people who want to get rid of rigid gender and sexuality standards y’all sure do love putting women through queerness purity tests

I live in the southern US and a lot of people are really homophobic so try to normalize queer people’s existence in tiny ways where I can in hopes of planting seeds. Also I want to make the few queer people around me happy. For pride month I’m gonna crochet a bunch of something with rainbow yarn and put them on my desk at work with a sign that says “happy pride month, take a rainbow ___ :)” should I crochet frogs, chickens, snails, or something else?
