Necessary Article

There I was wrapping up a funny children’s book getting ready to work on my new Pagan work linking the magick of trees to humanity and then the Gods said, “Look!”

For months I’ve been setting aside an important article idea because it’s not my direct genre. Yes, I write nonfiction but this is a specific Women’s Health issue.

Society loves the polarizing topics when it comes to women’s bodies, but there is so much more going on inside of us than just maternity. Our uterus and our bladders are linked and when those organs are not properly cared for, or are changed through procedures that are deemed “safe” by the medical community there are serious side effects that are not being properly presented.

My mother had a hysterectomy

Her mother had a hysterectomy

Something about an “abnormal pap” and just nipping the issue in the bud “in case it becomes cancerous”

Now cancer is terrifying.

It’s a bitch that we all need to look out for

BUT

Abnormal paps are common

Sometimes it’s just our bodies going through hormone shifts

Sometimes it’s a mistake on the lab technician or the nurse performing the procedure

Sometimes it is a serious issue that can develop further

We need to be vigilant but not scared into impulse decisions that change the body forever

Why?

Since the hysterectomy my mother’s bladder fell out. She had to have a major surgery. I had never heard of anything like this until she suffered greatly. The second I was told I did what writers do best, researched. I went though medical sources and spoke with other women and what I’ve found is that western medicine is lying to us.

EVERY. SINGLE. WOMAN. I know or have spoken with who has had a hysterectomy has had a prolapsed bladder (a fallen bladder). Curiously they are the only people I have found who suffered from a prolapsed bladder.

That’s one hell of a “coincidence”

Especially being that my mother’s doctor told her it had nothing to do with her hysterectomy.

How very curious...

The causes listed by the medical community do not stress this at all.

They blame:

Child bearing

Obesity

Smoking

and other issues as the main factors

It is true, women who have given birth are more likely to have a hysterectomy so of course child birth is inadvertently linked, but it is not a main cause.

Women who are obese also have a higher risk of abnormalities within the uterus and are directed to have a hysterectomy, so once again it is linked by not directly.

Smoking is a different beast altogether, and yet

Women in Asia do not suffer this prolapsed bladder issue.

They also don’t get hysterectomies as often and eat less processed sugar.

I have to write a full article on this and when it is turned down by women’s magazines (because it probably will be), I will post it to my blog.

I don’t care if you follow up with that.

All I care about is spreading the word.

I want EVERY. SINGLE. WOMAN. who reads this to be careful.

Please limit your processed sugar

Please limit or avoid smoking

And above all

Please, if your doctor suggests a hysterectomy get a second, third, and fourth opinion. Come prepared.

Discuss the bladder issues.

Discuss your concerns and be forceful about them.

Do NOT let anyone scare you into having a hysterectomy

Trust your instincts and yourself

If it is necessary, do what you have to do

But if you doubt it

Read up, speak with other women, find the best answers based on your needs, not those of a greedy medical industry that overcharges for procedures that not everyone should be pushed into having.
