Soulmate AU where your soulmate’s worries and stressors are written on your skin.

I did a whole google doc about it here instead of paying attention in school, so check that out if you want.

(If you use this please tag me so I can read it)

The AU

Worry Soulmate AU (gosh, that needs a better name) (feel free to comment one)

(you do not need to follow the rules, they are simply fun little ideas I came up with)

The Premise

Basically, your soulmate’s biggest worries and stressors (at that moment) show up somewhere on your body. Not all the worries or stressors, just the ones that have the most impact on your soulmate at the moment. Many people believe they are there to help soulmates better communicate their problems to each other without even needing to speak.

The Rules

The worries will be persistent ones and the ones that are most stressful at the moment.

EX. ‘I have a crush’ would be a persistent worry, while ‘I am totally going to fail his test’ would be a current stressor.

The worries begin showing up at age twelve. Not when the youngest turns twelve, but when your soulmate turns twelve, the marks start appearing.

EX. A twelve-year-old will not be able to see their eleven-year-old soulmate’s worries yet, but it will work vise versa.

When a worry is resolved or no longer relevant, the words go away.

EX. ‘I am totally going to fail this test’ would go away after they get their test grade.

The worry will appear in the form that your soulmate is thinking it, not as an item on a list.

EX. ‘I am totally going to fail this test’ not ‘failing my test’

The same worry will always show up in the same place on your body.

EX. If ‘I am totally going to fail this test’ shows up on your lowe back, it always will.

The “same worry” does not have to be worded the exact same way.

EX. ‘I am totally going to fail this test’ is the same as ‘There’s no way I can pass my math test’

When your soulmate worries, you feel the words appear on your skin where they always do, but only as they appear and no longer than that. Any type of sensation will work (tingling, tickling, burning, etc,.)

EX. A light burning sensation on your bicep when your soulmate is worried about taking a test.

Everyone’s sensations are different, and they all hate them because they’ve connected that feeling with their soulmate’s suffering (Pavlov’s Dog type situation)

EX. Someone who’s sensation feels like writing on their skin hates it when people draw on them.

The sensation is stronger the worse your soulmate’s worry is.

EX. Worry over a homework quiz will feel a lot weaker than a final test.

When your soulmate’s worries disappear, you feel it as well. The sensation is usually the opposite of when the worries appear (same following rules apply as when a worry appears).

EX. If you feel a burn when your soulmate worries, you may feel a cold spot when the worry goes away.

The worries are always written in your soulmate’s handwriting.

EX. If your soulmate writes like a five-year-old, well, too bad for you.

You cannot, in any way, shape, or form, stop words from appearing on your own skin or your soulmate’s skin unless you genuinely have no worries.

EX. Even if you can control your outward appearance, your soulmate will still know you’re worried about the stupid test.
