Hey friends! I wanted to post this video of Stephen discussing his canceled cons and upcoming ones. I’ve posted my experiences at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest on this blog many times over the years. I’ve encouraged people to go to HVFF (if they can afford it). Well those days are over! HVFF is a mess. Artists are canceling left and right because they aren’t getting paid - at least that’s the rumor. People are unable to get refunds even for canceled cons. It’s truly a disaster zone. It seems Stephen and HVFF had a bad break up too, so if he’s bailing then so should you. The company has rebranded to Fan Fest Events, but don’t let the new name fool you. It’s a dumpster fire.
Stephen has signed up with MCM Comic Con London for the same weekend he canceled on Fan Fest London (yeah it’s that bad). I know nothing about this company and I have no idea if this will be the convention company Stephen will be working with from now on. However, he is still continuing to appear at conventions. David and Emily are appearing in the same London con as well.
So that’s all I know! I just wanted to give everyone a heads up because I know my good experiences with HVFF have encouraged some of you to go. I would hate for anyone to lose money based on my recommendation.
Hi, I wanted to ask you your personal opinion on the green arrow beard/goatee. I personally think it looks dumb in both the comics and on our Oliver. Really his stubble was a step up
I hope you don’t mind that I’m publishing this. I had a very interesting discussion with @callistawolf the other day about this very topic. No. I am not a fan of whatever they are calling that thing on his face. It looks like an animal crawled onto his chin and died there. I was of the opinion that it was impossible to make Oliver Queen look unattractive, but damn did they prove me wrong.

Which of course had us all wondering… what’s on his face that’s so spoilery? Calli thinks there could be a phase 2 to the goatee. See, I thought THIS was the goatee:
But @callistawolf said we could technically classify it as a beard sort of like John Krasinski’s (who looks amazing with a beard and is attractive in all ways to me):

So it’s possible they could trim it back and make it look more like this:
It’s entirely possible they don’t since there are bushier examples in the comics as well:
The photo I posted of Stephen is from his Facebook vid on the 19th, which he posted a few hours after the post where he said his face was full of spoilers. I don’t think the beard was the spoiler (ie any kind of change) because it looks exactly the same. So he must have been referencing something else.
I just found it an enlightening conversation because I didn’t consider there could be a trimming phase. Regardless, all forms of the goatee/beard/dead squirrel are awful and must be shaved off immediately. Preferably by Felicity before they have reunion sex.
Stephen was live on Facebook. It’s 99.999% wrestling talk, but if you fast forward to around 6:45 Stephen confirms he’s signed on for an 8th season of Arrow if they are picked up again. He’s reached an agreement with the WB.
So all those worrying about Stephen and Season 8 - it’s over. You survived the contract negotiations!!!

Holy. Freaking. Crap. He did it. He actually hired someone to help monitor the Facebook page.
I’m stunned. Thrilled but stunned.
Truthfully, I hardly ever post on Stephen’s Facebook page because, like the Arrow Facebook, I find it to be an unsafe environment for an Olicity fan. If the internet is the Wild Wild West then the Olicity fandom’s territory is Tumblr & Twitter, while comic book/LL/L&uriver fans have Facebook and Reddit. Just the way it is.
One of the reasons I never post on Facebook is because of the interface. I can easily protect myself against harassment via Tumblr and Twitter because I control the blocking. I also control who posts on my Disqus. In other words, it’s easier for me to protect my bubble. The harassment may be taking place, but I don’t need to see it. Facebook, while a wonderful application, requires the moderator to block or delete comments. Yes, Facebook has a reporting method, but the visibility of the harassment on the page is entirely out of my control. In other words... I have to wait for Stephen to delete comments or block someone.
