That’s all she wrote folks! It’s game over on the spin off. Why it took nearly a year to announce it is beyond me, but we finally have an official statement from the network. So, we can all stop speculating at least.

A little more background info from Marc...

Very pumped for this. I’d be a little more excited if I saw David Ramsey’s name in the article, but either I’m getting ahead of myself or this is a separate thing from Arrow. The multiple Green Lanterns sounds very cool. I’ll get an HBO Max subscription now.

Spin-off update is... still no news.

"Actually, it's a little frustrating because people are constantly tweeting at me and I would love to answer, but there are certain things I'm not allowed to talk about until the powers-that-be decide we can."
Speaking about the state of the Arrowverse in general, Guggenheim added: "I've finished with Arrow, I've finished with 'Crisis on Infinite Earths'. It feels like the end of a chapter for me.”
"So I'm not entirely sure if there's another chapter to be had at this moment in time. At some point, I need to figure out exactly what I'm doing with the Arrowverse going forward, but I haven't quite figured that out yet... The Arrowverse shows are still going.”
Translation: Pedowitz is dicking around.

Cough up the answer already, dude. People have lives.

"It feels like the end of a chapter for me” and "So I'm not entirely sure if there's another chapter to be had at this moment in time,” don’t sound wildly optimistic, but I don’t know how much Marc was going to be part of the spin off.

The pandemic has thrown all of television development into unpredictable territory. I don’t know what’s going to happen or when. But we had a call with the studio today and continue the (relatively) normal process. 🤞🤞🤞 https://t.co/hbBHhOojSV

A little update on the spin off from Marc. We’re all in quarantine hell so the CW should just pick up the damn show. I want some good news for a change. What the frack else does the network have to do right now?

Love Saved the City: Arrow 8x10 Review Part 1 (Fadeout)

Arrow fades out (PUN!!!!!!!!!) with a beautifully poignant, surprising, not so surprising, nostalgic, hopeful, and gut wrenching final episode. Seriously, y’all I cried buckets. Dawson-Leary-Dumped-By-Joey-For-Her-True-Love-Pacey-Witter-Ugly-Cry tears.

Arrow’s finale is everything we love (and hate) about the show. Most importantly, it gives fans closure while leaving room for possibility.

Summing up the entirety of an eight year television show in a single hour is no easy task, but Arrow smartly zeroes in on what matters. The core characters are saying goodbye to Oliver Queen, but our hero is saying goodbye to us. In a life often mired down by uncertainty, Oliver’s decisions leave no room for doubt. He understands with perfect clarity the point of it all.

Arrow has meant many things to many people, but Oliver has the final word on what it all meant to him. The answer may be surprising to some, but I am certain those who have loved Arrow best have always known the point of Oliver Queen’s story.

Marc Guggenheim and Beth Schwartz gave me plenty to obsessively dissect. There’s symbolism to analyze; Greek philosophy and religion to wax poetically about; shade to throw; song lyrics to quote; snarky jokes to make; sweaty-tank-top-and-leather-pants men to drool over; missed opportunities to rage over; EPIC feels to feel; surprises to scream about IN ALL CAPS; tears to cry; and lessons to learn. And gifs. Of course there will be gifs.

You’ve been with me the whole ride, so let’s go on one more mission together. Say goodbye to Arrow with me my friends.

I had to break this into two parts because of the gifs. Get comfy. We’ll be here awhile.

Let’s dig in (one last time)…

Although that “Olicity” reunion marks the end of Arrow‘s run, there are still a multitude of spinoffs to which the show gave birth. So might Oliver and/or Felicity ever come back in some form? “The whole point of making him the Spectre was to give us story opportunities, because who knows what’s going to happen in the future?” Guggenheim said. “And the one thing I always say every time a character dies on any of these shows, it’s like, ‘We’ve got alternate realities. We’ve got time travel. We’ve got flashbacks.’ You name it, we have all these different devices. No one’s ever really gone.”

We weigh in one last time before #Arrow is over and through with our thoughts going into the finale. We discuss that there are spoilers but there are NO spoilers revealed during this episode so no worries there! We do discuss what we’d like to see and warning you all now: it gets a little petty.

We’re all here together, shipping this beautiful couple on this amazing (and frustrating) show. We are family, in a way. And sometimes family disagrees. But we can still try some kindness and respect, right? We discuss some fandom drama and our thoughts on it.

The Olicity fandom is eating well these days and we’re here to discuss it all (and maybe diffuse some of the pre-Crisis tension out there!). The show may be ending, but we have plenty to rejoice about… at least until next week. We also ask a bunch of listener questions and do a little ranting. #onbrand

WE WON OLICITY FANDOM! WE ARE TV GUIDE’S BEST FANDOM OF 2019. Way to go out on a high note. This victory is almost as sweet as our back to back Ship of the Year wins.  I’ve enjoyed waging war, and suffering carpal tunnel from captchas, with you these past five years.  You will always be the best fandom I’ve had the honor of being part of.

Long live the walls we crashed through All the kingdom lights shined just for me and you I was screaming, long live all the magic we made And bring on all the pretenders I'm not afraid Long live all the mountains we moved I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you I was screaming, long live that look on your face And bring on all the pretenders One day, we will be remembered
