Since you've trained very hard Jax I have to ask have you gotten any fitness related injuries over the years? If so would you mind sharing and what you did about them?
Yea I’ve had quite a few injuries I think every fitness person sadly gets a few when trying to get stronger.
My most infamous injury that I still have that has hindered me for years was when I tore my left shoulder after these 2 bars collapsed when I was doing handstand pushups back in the 2013 when I was 22 years old, this one is such a BITCH to deal on a daily basis but I do my best to work around it.
I’ve busted my knees a few times from EGO lifting on Heavy Squats as a kid, Sprinting in bad shoes, Running with heavy ankle weights and doing Weighted Plyo Jumps to increase my vertical. That one of my knees isnt as great as it used to be.
I’ve ripped my lower back while at work cause I had to catch something heavy and I couldn’t move off the floor for 3 weeks, I needed help everywhere and also needed a cane.
I sprained my ankle Twice as a kid playing football and basketball so bad I needed a brace.
I broke my hand punching a brick wall when I was 13.
I fucked up my ankles and calves when I was 17 years old cause I would wear Heavy Ankle Weights everywhere cause of Rock Lee to the point I had to get taken home from school cause the pain was so bad.
And Currently I still have pretty annoying Elbow tendonitis or Golfer’s elbow which prevents me from lifting as heavy or training as hard as I could until it heals and since its a tendon that takes months of healing.
I made a whole video on this but, The main I reason I get most of my injuries is because I have a big ego. I admit that, I have HIGH standards for myself and what I’m able to do and sometimes when I push past pain its not the good pain its the bad pain and then I deal with the issues later.
If I’m being 100% really its just from years of being made to feel and helpless and finally finding a way to achieve power and not let myself ever go back to that place made me push myself even harder and while I am still very athletic I do have a few keepsakes from overdoing it.
So all I do now is humble myself down, meditate and focus on building my body not destroying it.
So I listen to my body extra carefully to see whats working well and whats damaging. I do LOTS AND LOTS OF YOGA DAILY, I take care of my joints because THAT IS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT as you get older, I take my Vitamins because honestly I had some deficiencies which played a role in my injuries that I noticed so I’m fixing that now. I eat EXTRA HEALTHY so tons of healthy nutritious foods to build the body stronger, cut out a lot of excess BS which I consumed regularly that was damaging me so I save those for a cheat day.
And I just stay focused on myself, I don’t care about anyone else but bettering myself.
