What's a movie trope/cliche that you hate?
OH I GOT SEVERAL! BUT THE MAIN ONE I FUCKIN LOATHE IS THE
“If I kill you I’m no better than you trope"
That shit LEGIT Irritates me everytime it comes off cause then all I’m thinking is like
So Harry Potter is no better than Voldemort
Future Trunks is no better than FriezaThe fellowship of the ring is no better than Sauron and his evil Minions
ETC ETC
GET THAT BULLSHIT THE FUCK OUTTA HERE. Cause it’s so frustrating when there’s a villain left and right sometimes with Superpowers sometimes without and they are GLEEFULLY MURDERING INNOCENT people left and right
and you seal them up and they escape and start murdering again lives you couldve prevented if you just finished them, This concept that its wrong to take a life of someone to save someone else irks me everytime.
Or if the Hero Blows through their henchmen and then doesn’t kill the main bad guy.
I have a friend who writes for comic books legitimately and he has to come up with stories and plans and he told me something that many people already know but he verified it
the MAIN REASON they play that morality trope in the first place is because THAT VILLAIN IS POPULAR
they dont want to kill em off and come up with a villain of the week, IF THEY DO Kill them they will be back sometime around just BECAUSE They ARE POPULAR and want them to come back.
So I honestly do not buy any of that moral BS because of that Meta Knowledge that they are mainly keeping them alive for that reason.
Honestly I love Wonder Woman’s quote on this
