What do you think of Goku's Japanese voice? I have never heard it until I started watching Dragon Ball Super and it is so hard for me to get used to it.
Ahhh thats a common issue with many American Dragonball Z fans who grew up with the show in the 90s the japanese voices of DBZ and the japanese music.
Now for me personally I love DBZ in any format. And personally I’ve always thought that watching the American version and Japanese version are 2 completely different experiences.
When watching Dragonball Z in the original japanese it feels like the series has this cool Mystic Kung Fu series vibe.
While when watching the American Dub of Dragonball Z (accompanied by Bruce Faulconer’s score) it has this Super Hero Action Series vibe
Now me personally I do love both for what they are cause I love the series. My preference will always be the Funimation Dub with Bruce Faulconer music because
THATS WHAT I grew Up with. and there are certain scenes that I can recall exactly where I was because of Bruce Faulconer’s score making it epic

I love em both and prefer em. But yeah when I was lil kid and first started getting the Dragonball DVDs and watching them in the original Japanese it did take a while to get used to.

You have no idea….
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again There are many anime shows out there that I say have waaayyy better stories (FMA brotherhood, Attack on Titan, Cowboy Bebop, etc) than DBZ but it all comes down to this. As a kid I was severly picked on by buff kids because I was a chubby anime fanboy. they would make fun of my dbz shirts and say I would never look like them and then they slapped me around trying to test me, Beat me up, and just made fun of me. I’d come home and feel so horrible but then I would watch Toonami and DBZ and seeing a character like Goku who was buff and strong but so kind and treat everyone he was stronger than with respect and as equals really touched me. I wanted to be just like him so I said if I ever got strong and buff I’d be just like him. Basically DBZ was there when i needed it . when i was just so depressed and I will always love it over any other anime I see just for that. I will love this show until my soul travels on.

For the record I love both the Original Japanese Soundtracks and the Funimation one, they each give the series its own cool vibe

I know they’re most likely gonna play some BS Kai OST but it be nice if they got Bruce Back and did what they did on the DVDs where you have a choice of which music you want to hear depending on your preference. But to me Bruce always knew how to set the mood and MY GOD HE PUMPS ME UP FOR TRAINING!
