Imagine how Aaron would react given this situation. So earlier that day you see him play with your toddler and paying attention to her… he’s talking to her, holding her, loving on her, etc. well, that night you’re super nervous to talk to him and he can’t figure out why…. But you just want another baby. However with his job you’re worried how he will react. I know he’d be so happy to give you one, but imagine how broken he’d feel if you were scared to give him one 🥺
- Watching him with your little girl just made you swoon and fall even more in love with him. Now that Jack is a teen and less cuddly because he truly isn’t a little boy anymore, you know he loves loves loves the fact that he still has your little girl to give all his love and attention to <3
- He notices you watching him with some kind of look on your face that is teetering on the edge of being nervous, and absolute adoration when he is reading her bedtime story to her that night and you are leaning on the doorjam, watching them both as she is slipping off to bed. He is lying on her tiny bed, legs hanging way over because he is so tall, and she is tucked under her sheets, head resting in the crook of his arm and cuddled up to his side.
- When she finally falls asleep, he extracts himself verrrrrry carefully, kisses her on the forehead, flicks on her night light and exits.
- He looks for you immediately of course, finding you in the kitchen putting away the dishes.
- “What is that face.” He would ask, and you try your best to feign innocence, but he knows better. He finally presses it out of you with a combination of coaxing with words, and pressing little tiny kisses on your shoulder, neck and the side of your face, while hugging you from behind as you put away the dishes.
- When you finally tell him you want to have another baby, he freezes and you don’t dare turn around, because you mistake the stillness in his actions to be that he does not want another baby. You immediately apologise, telling him to forget it, and he can hear your voice quaking. He would immediately turn you around (so fast, it might cause whiplash) and explain himself, and be all like “I thought you wouldn’t want another child with me….”
- You would be flabbergasted of course and be like “???” and he would explain that he just thought that you wouldn’t because of how much time he spends away, and its not fair to you to care for another child when you already are doing such a good job with Jack and your little girl.
- And you would be like “I thought you wouldn’t want another, because you are already so busy…”
- You would both just stare at each other, because you both clearly were thinking each other didn’t want to exact same thing you both wanted.
- Obviously, he would end by pressing you against the kitchen counter and kissing you, murmuring against your lips “we could always start now mrs hotchner” >:))

Laughing and kissing! Hotch smiles when he kisses and it's one of the cutest things about him. How about a little ficlet? Because I can't write full stories right now apparently.

"First childhood crush...what show?"
"Batman." Hotch doesn't even give it thought.
"Batman?" Derek asks, one eyebrow quirked. Not what he expects. "Who?"
"Not fair, that's two questions..." Hotch is smiling wide and easy, eyes bright. He's manipulating the game. He doesn’t want to answer. "You owe me first."
"The Facts of Life."
"I never watched that."
Derek shrugs and his fearures melt into a dreamy grin. "Tootie," he says reverently like her name is an incantation. "Damn. She was fine. A little cute a little sexy, she had it all." Hotch leans forward and kisses Derek, soft at first, eager and searching and smiling. Derek almost takes the bait too. Almost.
"No no no, not yet...Batman. Who did it for ya?"
"You know me so well...guess..." Hotch challenges, smiling into another kiss meant to distract. He’s getting closer. It's not that he's ashamed he just doesn't like talking about himself. He'd rather hear more about Derek.
"Gotta be Catwoman, but which actress? Julie Newmar was a fox...but I think you liked Eartha Kitt and her sexy ass voice. Yeah?"
Hotch laughs and it crinkles his nose and his eyes become obsidian slits. He's blushing, a little flustered and asks "Is that surprising?"
"Maybe a little."
"Nice to know I can still surprise you."
"Yeah? Got any other surprises?"
Hotch's answer comes in the form of another kiss, this time accompanied by roaming hands that slip up under Derek’s shirt. He moves quickly, shifting and sliding, straddling Derek’s thighs, and puts a definite end to the conversation.

Ooo I always LOVE your headcannons so I humbly request maybe some about Hotch and Jack? Maybe how they bond when he’s at work so much? Love you hon 💕💕
okay i actually have Thoughts™️ about this
- first off jack does sports as long as he’s in school, especially middle and high school, but he gets his start as we see in canon, in elementary. we also see that hotch coaches at the very least his elementary team
- i think while hotch doesn’t coach past the youngest level, he does learn everything he can about soccer or whatever sport jack is playing - off moments on the jet or at night before bed he’s reading or watching videos about the game
- so when he’s home, a lot of bonding time is with jack practicing moves - going to the park, setting up a net, and watching jack practice around cones. when jack gets old enough to get his own phone, aaron sends him videos about moves he’s been struggling with
- and when jack gets into to high school, aaron goes to every game jack plays, to make up for the games he missed
- he also keeps score if that’s something needed, so he close to the bench and can talk to jack about what he sees on the field
- they also watch games together, on the couch - jack’s favorite snack are oven taquitos, while hotch is a chips and dip guy (ranch and ruffles pls)
- jack loves video games, so hotch makes a genuine effort to understand minecraft. he gets it on his phone and the two of them play on the same world at night too, calling jack from the hotel phone so they can talk while they play. it’s never more than an hour, but it means the world when aaron is so invested in how the world develops
- and when aaron is home, jack puts a controller in his hands (he can’t play too long because of developing arthritis) and they explore together.
- movies!! streaming services!!!! they watch movies together and apart, and facetime while they do it
- jack always picks the movie. aaron also keeps emergency popcorn in his bag so they can share a snack apart

Call JJ. That's what his gut told him, but he wouldn't. His phone was so far away from where he now stood, completely alone. It was funny, if he'd been put into this situation under any other circumstances, he would call Hotch. Mayday, mayday, I need your guidance. Your cool head. See, he could figure it out but it always took him a second longer to burn through the emotion and that second could mean the difference between life and death...calling Hotch circumvented that. Hotch didn't react emotionally.
Until he did. Until he beat a man to death with his bare hands. And Derek knew damn well that the story, the reason, it would all add up to self-defense. He had faith. Why else would he use his fists? Why else would he be beat to shit himself? He had his gun and...it just didn't add up. It was just that the missing fucking puzzle pieces were locked inside of Hotch's head and either he was burning them himself or something else was.
“Will,” Derek said, storming out of the building. He took that extra second and so far, no one had died, so he was still winning. Emotions in check. “Meet me out front of the precinct. I have something to do and I need your help...”
This was absolutely uncalled for, he knew it. He could take anyone from the force, anyone at all could help him make this arrest but maybe he would give Hotch this last little ounce of dignity. Of care. Maybe he was just fooling himself though. Hotch wouldn't be comforted, this wasn't for Hotch, this was for him.

Ok so, I’ve been thinking about how cute it would be to steal a piece of Aaron snack with nothing but a cheeky smile and all giggles and he returns the energy and chases you around the house for his snack back saying things like “first my heart now my Chico’s when will it end!” Or “You lil thief”, and if you have a dog, they’re running right behind you two with excited barks- 🥹 *sigh* If only
