Katara - some waterbending

suki and katara both said that the only real way to change the minds of misogynistic men is by beating the shit out of them and tbh that is such a valid take

zuko and katara are the kind of best friends who never shut up. they are constantly talking over each other at the same time and their voices get louder and louder the longer it goes on. despite the chaos, they each fully absorb what the other is saying. they would actually have a harder time understanding each other if there wasn’t so much screaming.

zuko and toph can basically communicate telepathically. zuko will come into toph’s room after a tough visit with azula and they’ll just sit there for a while. she’ll flick him in the arm at the exact right moment and he’ll feel better. or she’ll stomp into his room to cool off after a fight with katara, and they won’t say anything, but his waves of loving energy will bring her back down to reality. 

zuko and aang always talk in cryptic references to adventures they’ve had. aang will nudge zuko and say something like “hey. remember that guy with two belts?” and they’ll burst into giggles and refuse to explain the joke to anyone else. (you had to be there.) or they’ll be working on some new piece of policy and just fully start speaking in code. zuko will mumble something like “don’t forget bosco” and aang will derail the whole meeting to add more restrictions against exotic pet breeding.

zuko and sokka talk intensely and honestly and with a lot of poetry. it took sokka by surprise to discover just how often zuko will quote a poem rather than describe his own feelings, but after a while he got into it and now they both do it, nerds that they are. 

oh and zuko and suki? their letters to each other are all pictograms. they’ve planned entire vacations this way without exchanging a single word. suki will be like “👾🥬🦟🦟🍒🗺👙❓" and zuko will be like “🚢‼”

so i’m watching avatar the last airbender again because of fucking course i am and after zuko beats katara at the north pole he tells her “you rise with the moon. i rise with the sun” so now i’m convinced zuko is the most insufferable morning person ever and katara makes coffee at 9pm.

zuko at 5 am, seeing katara walking around in her pajamas: wow i’ve never seen you up this early

katara: i’m getting ready for bed

i didn’t intend for this to be a shipping thing i was just thinking about them as like roommates but honestly? 

zuko: help my wife’s a night owl and she sleeps till 2 pm every day 

iroh: some people are just nocturnal

zuko: ya but i miss her
