the reader refuses to take seriously any of their flirting or them trying to seduce them and (even tho the reader also wants them back) they just dont believe it. for example they get a shitton of compliments and their only response is “yeah right, sure” while quickly changing the subject

so the ONLY way they will maybe get the hints if whoever is trying to confess just straight up says “i want you”

Killer isn't shy about letting his interest be known. If you don't believe him, he will gladly show you just how much he means what he says. He'll remedy that disbelief fast. Dust is a little more patient with it, but he'll reach a breaking point eventually and inform you that he's deadly serious, and than he's thinking he should probably show you what he means, since you don't believe his words. Axe likes this little game because whenever he gets the quick change of subject, he counts it as a win. If it's a cold enough brush-off, though, he gets a little upset. You don't believe him? Well, he'll show you, if you'd rather. Gladly, in fact. Cross is arguably the worst with this. He does the exact same thing, so it's a really long game of who-cracks-first. It may well be him, but you try telling him no when he hooks your waist and murmurs to you that he's completely serious, and that he's not just talk. Baggs gets to the root of why you don't believe him. Bad experiences? Too many people using you as the butt of a joke that way? Understandable, but he's serious and he's not playing a game with you. It's not a trap, it's not a setup, he's completely serious, and if you let him, he'll show you how serious he is. Nightmare doesn't handle having his affections rebuffed very well, and also gets to the core of why you don't believe him. Sure, he lies sometimes, but if it involves him personally, he never does. Yes, exactly right. He meant every word he said. He doesn't like to mince them in his intrapersonal affairs, and much less so in romantic ones. A liar, is he? He'll prove you wrong, and gladly.
