sending lots of love to all the marauders stans who will undoubtly be crying their eyeballs out tomorrow
Fearless (the song) by Taylor Swift but it's Lily's pov when she finally falls in love with James
Valentines day is not "Valentines" day, it's "lily turned james down once again" day
He loved her green eyes and red hair,
he loved everything about her
He saw her smile
and whispered under his breath
“some day you'll be all I have”
She thought he was selfish and ignorant,
that he only knew how to lie
That just like his friends he was arrogant
and nothing could damage his pride
So she ignored him
whenever he reached out
And left the room
if was ever around
But he was taught to dream
and to never give in
And he couldn't miss the gleam in her eye
when she kissed on that night
After years of crushing and falling,
she finally came around
and found the version of him
she wished she hadn't once drowned.

happy halloween, marauders stans. keep crying over dead fictional characters you're doing a great job
We all talk about how Remus felt when he heard the news, how betrayed and broken and devastated he was. But can you imagine the unmeasureable regret and guilt Sirius felt when he realized he was wrong about Remus? If he had just trusted him, then James and Lily wouldn't be gone. He needed to see Remus, he needed to talk to him and apologize and tell him he still loved him and-
But then he saw a rat running down the street. And his mind was filled with one single thought. Revenge.
what a perfect day to cry over jily
“all right, Evans?”
“shut up and kiss me, Potter”
I hate all the pain this will cause you, I hate that you'll have to go through all of this sweetheart, I hate that I won't see you grow and I hate that I won't have the chance to raise you and tell you stories and kiss you goodnight.
But I have to do this, ok? Promise me you'll understand Harry, I've had my time, however short, and I will do everything in my power to make sure you have yours. Even if that means leaving you. I'm sorry Harry, I'm sorry.
Call me selfish, but if I had the chance to go back in time I wouldn't change a damn thing. I would do it all over again. Because I I'd rather die for you than never meet you at all.
You are the joy in our lives, Harry. Always remember that. You are loved, so loved. Dada and I love you so, so much. We can't risk your safety, darling.
So forgive us for leaving you, but keep in mind, those who love us never truly leave us. We'll always be with you, Harry. Just look for the right star, look for the change in the wind, look through your mind, Harry, we're there.
I am so sorry my darling. I love you.
forever yours, Mama

the marauders as things my friends have said (part 2)
teacher: are you two dating?
lily: no
james: yes
Lily Evans hated James Potter. That was just the natural order of things. Potter could run after her all he wanted, she would always say no.
At least until she heard James asking Sirius if he was ok, for the 4th time, in a day, and saw him making sure Peter ate everything, and wrote notes for Remus because he was too tired to do it himself. Lily started noticing these little things, she started to recognize the difference between his smug when he talked about how good he was with Quidditch and “Omg McKinnon did you see that goal?!” and his smile, his honest, pure smile when he was happy, when he heard a joke, when he talked to her.
As she came to know more and more of James, his actions and intentions became much clearer to her. She knew he didn't just like to brag about everything he did, he liked the feeling of approval, he liked to be loved. He didn't prank people to annoy them, he wanted to make them laugh. He didn't enchanted every girl he met because he wanted to snog their faces off, he just had a natural charm and wanted to make new friends, meet new people.
He didn't asked her out because he liked a good challenge, he wanted to know her.
So, after realizing all of this, she said yes.
And he smiled like a child with lollipop in their hands.
And sometimes James did resemble a child; he talked very fast, like there wasn't enough time in the world to say all he had in his mind, his jokes were childish, bad even, and almost no one but him laughed, even the other marauders forced it a bit sometimes, he was impulsive, and never thought twice before doing anything.
But, above all else, James Potter was kind. And brave. And sweet. And smart. And he cared about the people he loved like they were his precious treasure that he needed to protect.
James never let anyone down, you could always count on him. James always did the right thing, or tried to. James made sure everybody was feeling well, and if they weren't he'd make sure he did everything in his power to help them.
And Lily saw all of this. She saw the amazing man James was. So she gave him a chance.
And that was all he needed to find the key to her heart. He was a chaser, after all.
Lily fell for James quickly and senselessly, she jumped off the highest tower, almost touching the sky and, moments before she hit the ground, he caught her. And welcomed her into in his arms, his heart, his world, like he had been waiting for that moment his entire life.
When they first kissed, on one of their many dates, James was leading the conversation, something he loved doing. At a certain point, he was just rumbling about everything and nothing at all. So Lily laughed, and, when he asked why she just said,
“Shut up and kiss me, Potter” and moved closer, forgetting everything.
But suddenly, after mere seconds, she pulled away, her face red and her eyes wide. She was nervous, he noticed.
“I'm sorry ” she tried, her voice cracking “I didn't-” she never finished the sentence though, as she happened to find her mouth occupied with the other boy's sweet lips.
He was smiling into their kiss.
And she was smiling too.
He had a hand on her cheek, another on her waist, pulling her nearer. She played with his hair, messing it even more.
When they pulled apart, they were both grinning like idiots. And their eyes met for a whole while longer than they usually did.
“James” she whispered, barely believing her luck.
“I like it when you say my name. It sounds good, coming from your lips”
She didn't know what to say to that, she only knew she might be falling for the boy who played with a stolen snitch.
