Unpopular opinion

I think it’s more important to understand how you get to an opinion than what your opinion is. If you start off with a bad premise and a bad way of working with information, then no amount of good data or reasoning will help you. Conversely, if you have a solid premise, a good understanding of the limits and biases in whatever analytical tools you use to process information, then you have the tools to end up with an ideal, or close to ideal result, no matter what batch of information you have to work with. This means that you’ll end up with a good stance no matter what subject or field you’re trying to learn about or get established in. School at it’s best isn’t about an information dump, it’s about learning how to learn effectively.

I am a person of science and I will never agree with transsexualism until there is a scientific explanation. I think the whole trans community is frankly bullshit.

The brains of men and women are different.
These can be described as "male" and "female" brains.
Sometimes the brain of a person develops, but their body doesn't match their brain type.
They feel like one gender, but their body doesn't match up to what their brain tells them they should be.
This disconnect is called "dysphoria".
Transsexuals are those who go through corrective surgery so that their mental gender matches with their physical gender.

There's your scientific explanation. If you want an explanation about how the mix-up between male brain in female body and vice versa can happen due to hormonal fluctuations in vitrio, then you might have to ask an endocrinologist (amateur or not).

This is the exact opposite, in my opinion, of the idea of gender being a social construct.

I am also a person of science, but I know just enough about neurology to know that. There are alot of med school hopefuls and bio majors where I hang out.

I may have gotten a few things wrong, like the distinction between gender and sex, which I honestly don't care for, but I think I got the overall explanation pretty well.
