Man what a piece of shit that movie was. I know it became fun to hate on it but fuck it really deserves the hate it got. When I first saw it I couldn’t believe that it was actually happening. I was like there is no way I’m watching emo Toby do an intensely fruity dance right now. Not only was “new goblin” fucking stupid but James Franco was horrible playing it. And Eric Foreman as Venom…what.

I haven’t seen that spider-man movie in years, but I turned the first 2 movies into a kind of drinking game.

The rules are that you take a drink every time the world kicks Peter in the nads. You don’t stay sober for too long.

The others don’t bring up Steve’s past often because they’re worried it’s a sore subject. But teen Spidey doesn’t have that filter, and is just excited to meet a guy from the 40s. Steve enjoys it - it’s not often he gets reminded of the happy parts of his early life.

i dont get this. you’re all like “ha FOILED.” But. it’s not the same pose. it’s close! probably as close as we’re gonna get with real life, but unless the camera angle fucked it up, she still aint got herself contorted enough for it. which is the entire point of the criticism of the pic.

It’s the exact same pose except that Spider-Woman is leaner, fitter, and the camera angle is higher. If the criticism is the contortion, well I imagine that someone who develops spider-like powers would be able to contort their body outside of the realm of human possibilities. She also climbs on fucking walls.

Every single man needs to look like this now. Every single one. 

It’s not enough that they can just do the correct pose they need to have arms and a chest JUST like Thors. They need to literally match, line for line this human shape or it’s just not acceptable as an illustration. If every single man can’t fit this mold to a T it’s sexist and horrible and needs to be scrubbed from the comic community. I’m offended. 

You see how literally retarded it is to force logic and real physical anatomy onto a stylized comic book character? You see how it’s literally impossible for anyone to fully recreate a cartoon character doing anything including just standing around? Comic book characters are not real people, they do not fully conform to the rules of the human body. Artists lean the rules and then break them to create something more appealing to look at. Male for female. 

As  imminent-death-syndrome said these character are literally inhuman creatures with powers that often do change their body structure. We see Spider man doing back flips that would snap a normal humans spine in two.

Wow look at those..muscles where muscles can’t really be on a real human being…but wait! Here is how close they got in the movies, you know with real live actors!

Wait a second…that’s not right at all…

Yet no one made a peep about it. No one complained that Peter Parker isn’t as ripped as he should be. Because make no mistake Peter Parker should be ripped as fuck. Lore wise he was meant to have amazing physical abilities INCLUDING wait lifting. 

So it stands to reason that Spider WOMAN would get the same new body right? That she would be able to lift literally a ton of weight, that she would be a gymnastics super star and contort her body in different ways that NORMAL un-spider people can’t do? Or…do you not understand how fantasy works on the most basic of levels? 

And that’s not even touching on the basic rules of composition in art! Which once again these people know literally nothing about. Note on the human picture, it’s pretty cool but some things are a bit distracting. Her face is tilted down because as your shoulder go down and forward your neck and head go with it, you can look up but only by so much. The artist gave her a bigger face and head to show her features much clearer. He pulled the hands more forward and centered to show their detail and fill out some negative space as well as pushing them away from being hidden under the shoulder and upper arm. Pulling her hips up shows more of an ‘in motion’ pose as well as pushed away city sky line negative space and shows her more from a top view, giving you a look at her whole body and not a more squashed view of her back and hips. He lastly pulled her left leg out and away from her body to fill more space and uncluttered the rest of her, this puts negative space into the characters silhouette. When creating a pose or a picture you keep in mind that the image should be generally readable even if the whole character is blacked out you should be able to make out the images basic idea. As for the roof it’s titled lower to give a more creative angle so Spider woman takes up more of the space than the background. She’s larger than she should be and after all it’s a cover. 

The real woman herself just needs a few small changes to her pose, and the camera needs to be more of a top down to get literally the same effect but she doesn’t have the same long limb and slim waist of the comic…but many woman do. Body shame much? 

In the end these people have no basic understand of art in any form. Yet they throw shade at it none the less. 

I wonder how long it will take for some dumbass to come along and ignore everything you said because that comic panel is John Jameson, and not Peter Parker.  In case anyone cares, he’s some kind of magic werewolf or something, so the same arguments about altered physique would still apply.

And honestly, anyone who still bitches about this needs to just go fucking google CIrque du Soleil and see some of the crazy shit those people are capable of.  Those are real, actual, flesh and blood people, who shockingly enough are quite capable of moving, contorting, and posing in all kinds of crazy ways because they are physically fit enough to do so.

You right, I’m not super into Spiderman but I remember him waking up and going ‘holy shit I’m ripped’ to that extent. 

Which the recreate in the first movie rather well. Though he’s never as build as he is in the comics. The idea of ‘it changed him physically to be stronger’ still comes across.
