What was your view on Ask Princess Molestia?
I’m hoping the other mods will pile onto this issue and give their thoughts as well.
Take it from somebody who actually bothered to follow and read it; Everything Pinkiepony said was an exaggeration at best and a flat-out lie at worst.
Usually the latter.
Beyond some rather ambiguous implication stuff WAY in the beginning, there was absolutely no depiction of rape in the comic whatsoever.
For fuck’s sake, there wasn’t even actual acts of SEX or genitalia shown.
And it got even LESS raunchy as time went on, to the point where when Pinkie started her bullshit crusade (with might I add extremely misleading and faulty statistics), half the blog was about gaming Luna and most of what Molly did was just shove her ass in other pony’s faces.
tenaflyviper will fill you in how much “promoting rape culture” is a load of crap.
For one thing it’s the equivalent of saying video games and TV make you violent (SPOILER ALERT: THEY DON’T.)
For another thing, Rape culture does not exist in the United States.
DWM’s a perfect example of what Paintergate stands for: Art should not be censored.
Especially not when the would-be censors are spoiled little sociopathic liars who won’t even listen to the people they claim to stand up for and are so desperate to have people listen to them they’ll try to deport you from the country if you stand in their way.
Protip: never EVER believe a word that comes out of Pinkie’s mouth.

I read it a little before that whole mess started. I never finished it, but I had enough time to archive binge to my heart’s content for a few days before it was shut down. The worst I could honestly say about it was that it was fairly shallow humour.
I wasn’t very interested in the Gamer Luna aspect of it, and the shipping it started to get into, especially the Luna / Derpy shipping (which was the most consistent and focused on) drove me away.
There was a possible interesting subplot going on where Luna and Celestia’s parent would visit them, and Celestia demonstrated some actual nervousness. Actual character development and depth was showing up! But that subplot was only rarely touched on and seemed pretty unused overall.
It had a lighthearted niche that it fulfilled pretty well, but it didn’t have enough sustained draw to counteract the shipping cancer that so much fan content seems to be infected with.
