Fuck and Yes
The Haskell Free Library and Opera House is a neoclassical building that straddles the international border in Rock Island (now part of Stanstead), Quebec and Derby Line, Vermont. The Opera House opened on June 7, 1904, and was deliberately built on the border between Canada and the United States. It was declared a heritage building by both countries in the 1970s.
Today, the library has two different entrances (one from each country), and hence, two different addresses: its American address is 93 Caswell Avenue, while its Canadian address is 1, rue Church (Church Street). Exiting the library through the opposite entrance requires one to report to the country’s customs thereafter.
The international boundary is marked on the floor of the building in a black line.

EVERY TIME SOMEONE BRINGS UP THE LIBRARY OF ALEXANDRIA I GET SO ANGRY.
but why
Because it got burned. All of that knowledge, lost forever.
The library was destroyed over 1000’s of years ago. The library consisted of thousands of scrolls and books about mathematics, engineering, physiology, geography, blueprints, medicine, plays, & important scriptures. Thinkers from all over the Mediterranean used to come to Alexandria to study. Most of the major work of civilization up until that point was lost. If the library still survived till this day, society may have been more advanced and we would sure know more about the ancient world.
That graphic grinds my gears every time I see it
I even heard on an episode of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos that there was a two part manuscript about world history before the great flood that was said to have happened in the bible.
