“It felt like we were shooting a Marvel movie, or at least what I imagine shooting a Marvel movie would be like,” Matt Duffer says, “ We had two cameras on technocranes, and we had a cage suspended a bit in the air. And then all around David and Millie there were just green screens. It was almost mathematical in the sense that we crossed off the shots one by one. You can get really lost in terms of where you are in space and time when everything looks the same. It wasn’t the most fun sequence to shoot, but it was great fun to see it slowly come alive in post-production.”
