Pazzo the Pallas's cat delights the eyes! 😻
As you know, it’s much better to start your day with a manul - good morning from Snezhinka! ❄️☀️
Nightly peek-a-boo from Shu 👀😺
Shu the Pallas's cat is 8 months old. He was born in Leningrad zoo in Saint Petersburg in a family of beautiful Namika and brutal Sven.
rotund beast
Manul Timofey's childhood in Novosibirsk zoo. A retrospective.
Today, June 11, is the birthday of Timofey (Тимофей) - the star of the Moscow Zoo, and his brothers and sisters: Chip (Чип), Earl (Эрл), Emma (Эмма), Lolo (Лоло) and Pepe (Пепе)! They turned 3 years old today! Hooray! 🎉
To make this day even more special we got a special gift for all manulovers and fans of Timosha! We took out our archive footage to show you some moments of Timofey's childhood, funny games with his brothers and sisters, and, of course, their strict but very caring mother Lastochka (Ласточка).
Fluffs are only 3 months old on this video!
Did you see the (the standing) pallas cat from hansa?? He is so chonk
oh my GOD you are right he is unbelievably rotund: (Hansa 7077)
to be fair it is a fairly accurate representation of the fluff:
Pallas cat giving me its best profile. Budapest Zoo I think.
Fact from the International Society for Endangered Cats : “The flat head and low set ears are thought to be adaptations for stalking prey in open areas with relatively little cover. They hide for much of the day in caves or hollows under stones, or may adopt the burrows of other creatures such as marmots or foxes.”
Tea time.
The pallas cat is drinking a purple pea flower herbal tea, which does exist and gets its striking color from a natural chemical reaction with citrus. So its recommended to drink it with lemon juice!
The many faces of Manul that say I love you.
I still contend that this is, in fact, the best video on the internet, period. The sheer comedic timing. The knowledge that it cannot possibly have been constructed. The very human expression Pallas cats’ round pupils give them. And the backstory that this was literally the first footage captured by this camera in this placement, that this is the cat immediately noticing his environment has been changed and investigating with all the suspicion of a grumpy old gardener whose gnomes have been moved again…. *chef’s kiss*
[Video description: 9 seconds long clip from a nature documentary narrated by David Attenborough, an elderly man with a British accent. It shows a Palla’s cat, a small wild cat with dense light grey fur.
The cat is scratching its chin with its hind paw, narrator says “he just needs to stay focused.” As the narrator stops speaking, the cat notices a bit of flying fur. It moves to attack it, and then it rolls over on the ground while purring. A few lively tunes play at the end. End description.]
At odds with the fierce looking face, the body is round with long, dense fur.
Pallas cat for febroary!
