Started reading Dan Ariely's Misbelief for a project, and unfortunately it's pretty good.

I don't trust him because (1) I don't know that he's ever fully grappled with the replication crisis and (2) he's been basically caught probably engaging in flagrant data fabrication.

But the book is good and has some passages I might want to quote. Even though I don't want to trust him on any factual claims!

Started reading Robert Cialdini's Influence: Science and Practice. And it's a book drawing on social science which was written before 2010, which has it on thin ice going in. And then in the first few pages it cites (1) a study by Dan Ariely and (2) that study about the copier.

Not off to a good start!
