“I’m not boring to be around. Something will always happen.”
I'm just wondering, will you ever post your finished works that are on nanowrimo onto here? There are two (drive it like you stole it and cold as ice cream, still as sweet) that I really want to read but the links aren't working for me for some reason :( I understand if you just want to keep them on the other site tho.
Hi!
Both are the same fic, lol. And I never finished it, I got 7 chapters of what was going to be a 28 chapters story, which is why I was able to reach the milestones of NaNo.
I don’t want to promise you that I will eventually finish it, but it is in my plans. Hopefully, one day I may be able to. Thank you for the interest!
Hey! When I looked for Jacky and Hyde Fanfictions, I found an entry of you where you said:” The Jackie on My Mind poetry of @jacquelineshyde is beautiful and explores Hyde’s intimate feelings for Jackie on all levels, including sexual, and her Pillow Talk series is fun.“ But I sadly can’t find this one but I am really interested in it. May you help?
Hi! I think the post you found was by someone else, buuuut I’m the author of both things you mention!
The poetry series ‘Jackie On My Mind’ you can find it HERE.
And as for the Pillow Talks series, you can find them HERE.
Enjoy!
365 days of Jackie and Hyde: [300/365] 7.02 Let’s Spend the Night Together
i have noticed some interesting few things about how hyde’s feelings are shown in the show. in s8, when sam was gone, he was just immediately back to his normal self unlike when he and jackie broke up in s7, everyone noticed how much of a “tool” he was. idk if it’s just the s8 writers being shit in writing sam’s character and how they did hyde after the divorce showed how he really doesnt care about her, but i think that’s a pretty contrasting highlight of how much he truly cared about jackie
I think season 8 was never truly planned by the showrunners and wirters, they just went with a few points of what they wanted to do and wrote on the road. Probably not a good thing, but lol-- we been knew s8 is a mess.
The thing with it it’s that writing is even MORE inconsistent than with the rest of the show after season 2/3, so I wouldn’t give credit to the writers or showrunners for this little detail you mention.
Since the public never liked Sam and they never knew how to say goodbye to characters, all exist of semi-regular characters were handle badly and most of the times, these characters never even get a mention after. In the case of Sam, she was created to further separate Jackie and Hyde, and was never given the chance to become an actual character.
Her exist didn’t truly matter. It was just something that needed to happen in order to not have the character/actress around anymore since her introduction brought more disappointment and viewers lose than anything else. Which is hella funny when you think of the fact that the showrunner’s job is to know their audience and show, and just by adding her the way it was done, you realize they never knew what they were doing.
But, taking this as a headcanon now-- you could say that Hyde’s guilt for what transpired between him and Jackie, a woman he actually loved, was shown in little things during the season. Like his face and acceptance of how she felt towards Fez, or the way he never truly seemed to care nor even like his “wife”.
He’s a man who would never do badly to any woman, so if marrying Sam was a drunken mistake, I do beleive he would try to stand by her, even try to stay married. Once the marriage is revealed to be fake since she was already married to someone else, I think it would be normal for him to just... well, not show that devastantion of when he lost Jackie. Twice and thrice.
So yeah, I think it’s possible it may indicate who mattered to him as a partner the most in this case.
Why do you think Kelso is attracted to bossy girls/women?
Maybe so he doesn’t have to take as much responsibility for himself. With someone else calling the shots, he doesn’t have to think. All he has to do is follow her orders ... then cheat on her ... and, ultimately, blame his infidelity on her controlling nature.
I think he’s actually attracted to strong women, however: Jackie, Laurie, Annette, Brooke, Angie -- while Jackie, Laurie, and Annette also happened to be controlling in their relationships with him.
I feel this also has a lot to do with the fact that Kelso is the middle kid in his household. He is used to see his mother as an authority and, usually, kids in his position tend to search for a partner that will provide the comfort of knowing what to do and tell him to do so as it has been in his home.
Maybe I’m headcanoning here, but the truth is that if you look at two of his three most important relationships (Jackie, Laurie and Brooke. Not to say Annette and Angie weren’t importnat, but they weren’t on the level of these two. One can argue his most important relationships were still just Jackie and Brooke), the two girls, Jackie and Brooke, both are maternal in their own.
We are even shown Jackie acts like a mother to Kelso, reading him to sleep and even telling him how to dress, etc. She also expresses interest in one day being the mother of his children. While Brooke is older, patient and sweet to him like amother, and ultimately becomes the mother of his kid.
So maybe Kelso searches for strong women because the authority in his home was his mother, and as middle kid, your mom is always on your side. I don’t think this implies mommy issues, though. He’s just used to strong women and that’s what he aims for in a relationship, regardless if he can keep it or not.
Couples that should’ve been endgame

Now you’re sitting together? You guys aren’t just fooling around.

Hey guys! I while back I started reading a 16 candles AU with Hyde and Jackie, I’m pretty sure that’s the name of the fic, “Sixteen Candles”, and it was on ffnet but I can’t find it for some reason. It was around 8 or 10 chapters, finished.
Does anyone has the link for it? I want to finish reading it.
Thank you!
Here you go!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I needed this, lmao.
That ‘70s Show, Red Fired Up (2x24).
do you think the show has aged well? are there any jokes you think would absolutely NOT fly on tv today?
Parts of the show have aged fine; parts of the show haven’t. The incessant slut-shaming is definitely a no-go, as is the fat-shaming.
Red’s xenophobia makes character-sense for him, considering his military history. Jackie’s xenophobia also makes sense, considering her snobby upbringing. Also important to remember is the time period the show takes place in: the 1970s.
That being said, the othering jokes at Fez’s expense were rarely called out by Fez or the other characters (although – to be fair – when they were, it was generally well done). They should’ve been, and that would’ve made clear that the POV of the show wasn’t, “Ha, ha, ha, insulting the only POC main character [until season 7] is all in good fun and hurts no one,“ but, “This is wrong, and we’re pointing out how narrow these people’s perspective is. The origin of it is not an excuse; just an explanation.”
The misogyny of the show didn’t work then and doesn’t work now. T7S’s attitude about women varies, depending on the episode, but when it’s bad, it’s really bad. Jackie gets the brunt of this with season-4′’s justification of Kelso’s cheating on her and how Hyde acts as the injured party after the nurse incident. Even though Jackie calls out Kelso, no one – not even Jackie, at least not effectively – calls out Hyde’s entitled attitude or the fact his first and only on-screen, “I love you,” to her is totally self-serving.
Then in season 8, the misogyny focuses so strongly on Jackie that the new showrunners’ hatred for the character is blatantly obvious. Plus, the show brought in a new main character who’s a stripper to use as eye-candy, sexist-joke fodder, and an antagonist of Jackie (directly and subtextually, via her taking Jackie’s place in Hyde’s life), rather than portraying her as a fully-fleshed out (no pun intended) person.
The show’s treatment of alcoholism as a joke after season 3 … Edna Hyde, Pam Burkhart, and Kitty are all portrayed as alcoholics. Only the consequences of Edna’s addiction are treated with any kind of seriousness.
Sadly, though, all of these negatives would probably still fly on a TV show, as you put it. The difference is that people are more aware and vocal about calling it out … but even poop has its fans (i.e. flies). So bad TV will likely always have its share of fans and defenders, too.
I also want to point out that there are entire episodes that both, aged fine and aged bad. One of the bad ones would be, season 1′s Eric’s Buddy.
It has the first TV mlm kiss ever shown on open TV, but the way it portrays mlm as the punch line of the joke and also forgets the character exists for the rest of the entire show, it’s something to cry about.
Meanwhile, the episode when Bud, Hyde’s stepdad, comes back and success in making Hyde believe he will be there to be his father just to get some money out of him and hurt him all over again some episodes after, had some fine writing when it comes to present what that kind of abuse and situation is to a child that has been abandoned.
That ‘70s Show, Laurie and the Professor (2x04).
I’m new to the that 70s show fandom and I'm looking for blogs to follow, so if you post about that 70s show like/reblog this post and I’ll follow you (and maybe consider following me?). Thanks!
Here are some T7S blog recs:
Ah, thanks for the rec!
